That exceptional TG mouthfeel, citrusy, crisp, and refreshing. A definite treat, and a great example of a quality wheat IPA. Grab a bottle if you can find one!

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Solid finger of off white head which settles into a thin patchy layer.

Smell: A juicy and earthy hop forward aroma with a scent of citrus, pine, and wheat. Upfront scent of tropical hops with some orange peel, pineapple, grapefruit, lemon, and mango. Earthy hop scent of pine resin and grass. Malt scent of wheat, grains, and cracker with some yeast and honey sweetness. A very good aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a juicy and earthy hop driven taste with notes of citrus, pine, and wheat. Big presence of tropical hops with notes of grapefruit, orange peel, pineapple, mango, and lemon zest. Bready malt notes of wheat, grains, and cracker along with yeast. Some honey like sweetness. A really good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Juicy and oily with a drying finish.

Overall: Another great hop driven brew from Toppling Goliath. Good citrus and pine notes with a nice presence of wheat.

Poured from 16oz bottle.

L: Beer pours a cloudy golden color with one finger of white head that disappates quickly. No lacing.

S: Nose is citrus, lemon peel, honey, grapefruit.

T: Taste is very refreshing. This would be a great summer beer. Light, crisp with fruity notes, there is a hoppy dryness to the wash down.

F: light, refreshing, tangy.

O: Great, refreshing example of a Pale wheat ale. This is right there with FFF gumballhead. More hoppy, but just as refreshing. Very good.

Pours a hazy grapefruit color, with a very thin, white head. Tons of citrus fruit in the smell, with a nice pine resin.
Tase of itrus and pine hops, with a nice yeasty backing. This was interesting because the taste was dominated by hop, but a quick burst at the end of the bready taste. Thinner mouthfeel really lets the hop taste come out. A very solid, crushable APA.

A first time for this one. 22 oz bomber and fresh off the truck.

Poured it carefully and got a very cloudy pale yellow beer with beautiful lacing but not much head.
Nose is rather bland but fresh
Taste is nice. A great summer drink with good tartness and lemon. A nice hop profile. I mean a beautiful hop profile. Mouthfeel is rather tingly but ads to the lemon. I really enjoyed this beer.

Wow what a beautiful beer. Hazy pale yellow almost has a glow to it with a crown of white head. The smell is pretty muted, light wheat, touch of lemon. Very slight bitterness, goes down extremely smooth wonderful summertime brew.

This feels like a hop candy that melts in your mouth. Super subtle hop flavor and smell. Crisp and refreshing. Hardly any malt that you might think would be there in place of the hops. Easy drinking that I hope to try on a hot summer day.

Not my favorite style but they did a great job. Lots of taste with a refreshing finish. Perfect summer style in my opinion.. Just enough floralness to keep you wanting.

Pours a murky, pale yellow color with a medium foam head. Okay retention and some impressive lacing.

Aroma is citrusy with pine. Pineapple, mango and grapefruit, all common of TG brews.

A well balanced brew with nice hop character and citrus flavors. Orange, grapefruit, and mango. Wheat is present as an accent. A nice one-two punch combo of hops and bitterness on the back end, with a bit more presence of bitterness.

Light bodied. Well carbonated hoppy and bitter, but still very drinkable.

On a hot humid day, I stepped into the cool tap room of Toppling Goliath for one of their new hops creations. Thresher is an IPA with wheat. “It’s not a wheat beer. It’s an IPA brewed with wheat added,” as the barmaid Chelsea so carefully explained. The citrus and pine aromas followed by a pleasing taste and light body make Thresher really refreshing.

Bomber poured into a snifter.

3.25 A: Well hazed golden yellow with a subtle brown tint. About one finger of frothy off-white head. Retention is a touch below average and a short ring of lacing is left.

4.75 S: Simply marvelous. Sugary and tropical hoppiness in the form of candied mango, pineapple, and orange. Honey, bubblegum, floral and herbalness. Neutral wheat and a soft yeastiness.

4.25 T: Like the nose, hops are running the show. Tropical fruits mentioned above, floral hop flavor, hints of grapefruit and herbalness. Honey, lemon peel, bubblegum, spiciness, and bready yeast.

3.5 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. A touch bity with just a slight creaminess. Decent, but not great here.

4.0 D: Another super solid beer from TG. They can't really do wrong.

L - Light pale yellow. Very attractive and alluring. Pure white head forms at pour. Nice lacing and retention from the wheat grain bill.

S - Some hops from but a little faded. A soft presence. Not overwhelming. Some pine and citrus.

T - First sip is citrusy and juicy. I hate calling an IPA juicy but that was the first word I thought of. Tropical fruits.

F - Very soft feel. Super pleasant in the mouth. Carb is nice and smooth.

O - A nice offering from TGB, but not as great as the others I have had. Still worth trying.

Serving: Bomber into a snifter
Served: 24 June 2016

Appearance: Pours a hazy light brown/yellow color. Not insanely hazy, but not clear either. Good head and substantial lacing. Bottle art is alright.

Smell: Lots of bright citrus hops, some dankness.

Taste: Tastes pretty much exactly like an IPA with maybe just the slightest, softest hint of wheat to round out the flavor in the background. Hop flavors dominate. Moderate bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Wheat rounds out the body nicely. Medium body and medium-high carbonation.

Overall: A good beer for sure and one that is on the same tier as A Lil' Sumpin' Sumpin', but is much less available than that one.

Smell is lemon peel, citrus, tartness, a little bit of funk, piney hops, and just an overall bright aroma. Taste is citrus, floral hops, grapefruit (particularly the pith), and a surprising bitterness on the finish. I love the mouthfeel that the wheat backbone gives this beer. Another great beer from TG!

Thresher has a beautiful, hazy straw yellow color. The nose was citrusy, in your typical IPA fashion. The nose was not overwhelming, but it was nice. The taste was also what you expect from TG; definitely a high quality IPA. As the beer warmed I found it more enjoyable. You could easily crush this, it had a very pleasant feel.

Poured from a bomber into a snifter. Bottled 6/8/16

A: Pours a hazy, light yellow color with a 1.5 inch thick, foamy, paper white head with good retention. Tons of bubbles. Thick white lacing throughout.

S: Light citrus notes of lemon and grapefruit. Stronger notes of earthy hops. Grassy, pine, and wheat germ notes as well.

T: Taste matches aromas well. Citrus notes of lemon and grapefruit rind. Piney hop bitterness with malt cracker and biscuity flavors.

F: Light body, smooth, with good carbonation. Quite a bit of dryness at the end.

O: Overall, a good beer but not in my top ranks for TG pale ale/IPA offerings. It's a nice switch up with the wheat, and it's done well just not really my jam. Would like to have tried it fresher. Good stuff, but not great.

Thanks to Todd for sharing this one. Served in a tulip of some sort.

A - White foam settles to wisps, a collar, and specks of lace. Hazy pale straw body, with that characteristic unfiltered wheat look to it.

S - Dank and slightly oniony hops, but with some citrus mixed in for good measure. Amarillo and Citra maybe? Pretty hop forward, with perhaps a touch of toasted grain and wheat in the periphery; not much malt sweetness.

T - The taste is a tiny bit more balanced, with some grain and wheat flavors mingling with lemon, grapefruit, and herbal hops. Moderate bitterness, with a touch of yeasty bread in the finish.

M - Medium body, dry, toasty texture, pleasant lower growler-style carbonation. Some residual hop oils and resins linger.

D - Nice hoppy wheat beer in the mold of Gumballhead. Quite easy to drink, although I could do for a tad less bitterness. Still, on the whole it was quite enjoyable.

L: pours a hazy light gold with a nice white head that lasts with some lacing.
S: it smells juicy with citrus and hoppy just like other TG beers, but smells brighter than others if that make sense.
T: citrus but not as hoppy as I was expecting. Lacking a bitterness at the end also. The wheat style comes through nicely.
F: smooth with a bite of carbonation

O: decent but probably my probably one of my least favorite TG beers I've had. Interesting to have a wheat IPA though

Really enjoy this beer and the style. Tgb makes a few of my favorite beers and this one is right up there but lighter than what I typically prefer but very balanced. Carbonation is on point for me, nice bite. Fruit, medium hops, subtle wheat and grain flavor. Bready.

Had on tap at TG brew house

A: fluffy white head that led to excellent lacing. Straw colored, with just a touch of haze

S: very hop forward, a little pine/dank with clear citrus notes. Perhaps a touch of wheat bread in the background

T/M: Taste is similar to nose, which is a very good thing. Hop forward yet still well balanced. A great beer for the season as it is not too filling nor over the top.

O: a wheat ipa from TG? Don't ask questions, just drink and enjoy. You will thank me for it.

650ml bottle. Served in a Toppling Goliath snifter glass.

Pours a hazy darker golden-yellow body, one finger white head, plenty of retention, bits of lacing. Smells of pine, resin, cereal grain, wheat germ, fair bit of citrus but mostly resinous hop aromas. Flavour follows the nose, with cereal grain, wheat, pine resin and a bit of grapefruit. Mostly pine. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, creamy, good mouthfeel with nice carbonation, moderate bitterness on the finish, which is noticeable compared to the other pale ales that Toppling Goliath brews. This is a pretty solid IPA, seems that the wheat adds a bit more to appearance and mouthfeel. On the more bitter and piney side, which is a nice change of pace.

Pale yellow color. White head.

Lemon citrus, wheat and spice, herbal and earthy hops. Some orange peel.

Lighter bodied. A higher amount of carbonation. Ends dry.

Overall, a much different tg hoppy beers than the others. Easy drinking on a summer day.

Thanks to Jeff for this one. 22oz. bomber into Tree House stemware. Shared with schen9303.

Outstanding looking beer from the beginning to the very last drop. Nose is lemon, citrus and grapefruit. Vibrant but a little mellow. Flavors are on point though. Taste is citrus, lemon zest, fresh grass and pine. Again, fresh, lively and refreshing. But pretty plain. Light bodied with ample carbonation. Prickly and foamy on the palate and carbonated going down. Quenching finish. Real easy to drink.

Pretty good beer overall and the whole bomber goes quickly. That being said, its an interchangeable beer that doesn't really leave an impression. Worth trying but not revisiting.

Poured a yellow pale color with a fluffy white head that quickly rose to the top. The aromas were kind of mild - just some mango and a little citrus. The flavors were lacking something. Not a lot of malt to appreciate, no richness or sweetness. The hops hit you but it's weak. There's mild earthiness and tropical fruit. But it's short-lived and the beer finished quickly in the mouth. Overall this is a light IPA. Even for a pale ale, this would be boring in comparison. I guess considering its Toppling Goliath, I had higher expectations. No bottle date at the time of purchase and no ABV on bottle. I can only assume what is listed on BA.
