Stopped here after a lunch at the Beer Authority just on the other end of the block. It is located next to the Port Authority. The bar is located in the front of the restaurant and can seat about twenty or so, and there are a bunch of hi tops next to the bar. The place does have that chain restaurant feel to it. There is a smallish dining area behind the bar.

There were a bunch of beers on tap here. The usual house beers plus a few specials like a pumpkin ale, an oak aged imperial pumpkin ale, and a black lager. I had the oak aged imperial pumpkin and it was not very good at all. My wife had the Indiana Pale Ale which was also a bit off from what I have tasted before. Definitely disappointing.

The bartender was too busy and was a bit slow overall. We did not have any food.

I have been to a few Heartland Brewery's in town, and this was the worst from a beer flavor standpoint.

We were on our way to see a broadway show and this place happened to be right on the way. It looked like the rest of the neighborhood was mostly chains and of the fast food variety , so we decided to try this incarnation of Heartland.

It is much smaller than the one by Empire state building but had a very similar atmosphere. They don't make the beers on premises at these Heartland breweries but rather ship it in from some central brewing facility.

The beers were decent enough--I'd call them all just a little better than average. They kind of remind me of a Rock Bottom or Gordon Biersch brewpub--decent but nothing spectacular.

The service was fine but nothing spectacular. The food was decent but also nothing spectacular. It fit the bill as we were hungry and it wasnt fast food. I definitely wouldnt recommend going out of your way for this place but if I happened to be in the neighborhood, sure I'd give it another try.

This newest location of the Heartland chain of fake breweries is right in my neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen/Times Square, inside the dreary and drab Port Authority Bus Terminal.

I was actually waiting for it to open and expecting big things, as I had read this location would have some special taps and be a little better and more exciting than the other Heartlands.

Not so. Same taps, same crap. IPA, Stout, Lager, Red, whatever. As I said in my review of the Times Square Heartland, the seasonals are the better options (DIPA, Oatmeal Stout, Barleywine).

Atmosphere here is even less impressive than on 43rd. Totally generic and chain-y.

Prices are as sky-high as all the other Heartland joints.

Service... fine, nothing spectacular.

OK if you're waiting for a bus at the PABT, I guess... or if you're a hopelessly-lost tourist. Otherwise, why not go to Pony Bar or Shorty's just down the street, or even the nearest Heartland?

Heartland Brewery Midtown West...

Appearance - Slightly dark, trendy feel, lots of little fog lamps, beer memorabilia, small tables and a wide bar. Chalk boards show the beers, two summer specials on tap today. Bar area is separate from main dining room which is more expansive with lots of wide tables.

Quality/Selection-pints of beer, they do offer samples, I tasted the Indiana Pale Ale, which was fairly good and the Cornhusker Lager, which was ok, I've had it before. Tried a sample of the Apricot Ale, which was rancid. 9 Selections on tap.

Service-bartender was prompt, offered samples, no issues. Screwed up my wife's mixed drink, but it happens. No real issues. I still despise how when they print out the check the put a suggested gratuity of 18% to 20% on each tab. I can figure it out, thanks.

Food-I've been to many Heartlands and the food is always good, I only had time for fries today but they were good too, no issues.

Overall-Heartland Breweries are genius, craft beer in incredibly touristy settings, lately they have been pushing that they are employee owned too, interesting. Anyway, this place is fine, not the most outstanding beer but everything is good.

Stopped in here on my first full day in NYC to have some lunch. This location is right beside the Port Authority building. Sat at the bar this afternoon. The place itself has an old Italian restaurant feel to it. There were about 8 house beers on tap, with a variety of styles available. I had a pint of the Farmer Jon's Oatmeal Stout, which was good. I also ordered a burger, which they said was their claim to fame. Actually, it was pretty tasty. Service was decent, as the bartender was fast but curt. Price was decent for the area. This was the first Heartland I have visited in NYC and thought the food and their beer was good enough to warrant a second visit to a different location next time I am in town.
