A - Pours a cloudy golden-orange with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades down fairly slowly leaving behind some nice lacing.

S - Aroma is a mix of grapefruit, tropical, lemon, and pine hops with sweet caramel and biscuit malts.

T - Starts off with a mix of grapefruit, pineapple, and tropical hops with some bitterness and some sweet caramel malts. Through the middle, some pine and grassy hops come through with some more bitterness and some biscuit malts. The finish is a mix of grapefruit, tropical, piney, and lightly spicy hops with some resiny bitterness and some sweet biscuity malts.

M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a bitter and lightly dry and sweet finish.

D - Very drinkable. Nice hoppy IPA with some nice New Zealand hops and good overall balance.

Hugely tropical, to the point of candy. Very drinkable, if a bit thin. A different, informed take on kiwi hops. 4.25

A: Pours a hazy medium golden yellow in color with some orange highlights, light amounts of particulates in suspension, and a moderate amount of visible carbonation. The beer has a two finger tall creamy beige head that reduces to a thick film covering the majority of the surface of the beer with a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Light to moderate amounts of caramel and pale malt sweetness with a spicy (white pepper) hop and some citrus/orange/grapefruit hops. There is a very light hint of some light fruits (apple stands out).

T: Upfront there are some light to moderate flavors of pale and caramel malts with just a hint of sweetness. That is followed by some moderate to strong flavors of spicy (white pepper) and citrus/orange/grapefruit hops and just a touch of tropical flavors. There is a moderate amount of yeastiness to this brew as well, giving it some additional peppery spice notes. Light to moderate amounts of bitterness in the finish which lingers for a short amount of time.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light amounts of dryness in the finish.

O: This is an enjoyable beer with a nice amount of complexity to the hop profile and a decent balance between the malts and hops. Fairly easy to drink and one I would get again - I like the tropical notes that show up later in the taste.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a bright orange color and a cloudy consistency. There was an inch of foamy, fairly long-lasting head. Excellent lacing.

S: A fruity aroma - much fruitier than I would have expected - that also had a good deal of hops as well.

T: An extremely hoppy flavor here, with a lot of tropical fruit (mango, apricot) as well. Somewhat resiny and malty. An incredibly light, fruity, complex, and vibrant taste.

M: A good amount of carbonation with a slick finish. Medium- to light-bodied.

O: In some ways this is a classic American IPA, but very different in others. Very easy to drink and very likeable.

A: Tangerine orange has a dense clarity, brightly colored in nature, with an impressive 2 finger bone colored head that was foamy, lustrious and sturdy on the keep. Random isolated instances of patchy foam work.

S: Pale tangerines with a yeasty musky nature, along with some pale wheat. Decent level of hops, tart and velvet oranges, grapefruit peel with a bit of golding spice hop.

T: The flavor is hoppy and yeasty, citrusy and grapefruity with a bit of dry sour tropical fruitiness. Grassy and smooth like wine alcohol notes come with some yeasty starfruit and a nice wallop of hops which are not shy about their presence. Gentle pale and wheat malts are dry and complimentary.

M: Mouthful is light bodied, creamy and smooth with a spicy, funky, yeasty bite upon the swallow. A warmth of pine hops and alcohol warm the inner cheeks.

O: Overall it brings the hops, Nelson with an aggressive nature, and has a bit of funky belgian yeastiness to it, tart, dry with a pale grain base that is all tied together nicely. Shows some complexity and thought, tasty and a second helping is warranted.

Digital IPA looks the part, a dark yellow, transulcent beer that keeps up just less than a finger of foamy off-white head on top. Lacing clings to the glass in some nice patching that eventually leads to heavy spotting.
The imperial pils and green tea IPA has more hops presence than I expected; this beer I did expect a bit more hops from. What it has is good, no doubt, just not in the strength or with the depth that would make it great. It's got an underlying mineral element along with lots of leaf, a bit of pepper, some fruits, and citrus zest, balanced by somewhat bready and dry malt.
The light body flows very smoothly but with a nice supporting bite of crispness on the tongue. It's well carbonated, and the creaminess supporting the pepper that bites a bit in the feel as well as the flavor is a nice combination.

Pours pale amber with a large head.
Nose shows honey, passionfruit and lychee along with some biscuity malt and very soft caramel.
Flavours don't show so much fruit, more focussed on the sweet clean malt with faint biscuity characters followed by a bold, sharp, almost harsh bitterness.
Could use a little less carbonation.

Pours a bright golden colour with a generous dense white head. looks good.

On the nose I get resinous hoppiness upfront. Followed by some apricot and maybe mango. A bit of maltiness hiding at the back.

Maltiness comes more to the fore on the palate. The hoppiness is there with the pine resin flavours dominating. A bit of tropical fruit. Nice balance with just enough bitterness.

Medium bodied.

Very nice. My only complaint is that the palate is a bit broad for me if that makes sense. I was hoping for something a bit sharper and punchier. Will drink again though.

330 ML bottle poured into a tulip

A-- Poured a hazy honey orange color. Fluffy bright white head, one finger, that slowly faded to film. Good retention on swirling and leaves a good amount of film on the sides of the glass for lacing.

S-- Tropical fruits, lychee, guava, passion fruit, lemon and orange peel, grapefruit, and a light carmel malt backbone. Nice nose on this.

T-- Pine and grapefruit bitterness. Slightly sweet taste and some lemon, lime and and orange acidity. Not the strange flower tasting bitterness that I have gotten used to with NZ beers.

M-- Clean, crisp, and finishes quite dry. Good lingering hop bitterness finish. In the mouth the lack of malt is apparent and in a way the beer needs more malt but it is well balanced for what it is.

O-- Easy drinking, well balanced IPA. Well hidden ABV. One of the better Kiwi IPA's I have had with the Kiwi hops being used. Lacking in the feel a bit but rest is pretty good.

Reviewing this one so that it can have reviews sufficent for a grade.

7.0% abv. Pours a hazy medium orange amber with a nice white head that fades fast.

Nose is pleasant but does not have the fresh pineapple one might expect or want. Esters are assertive and almost Belgian in character.

Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with some creaminess "half and half" character.

Flavor profile is the highlight of this one and is big and assertive pine with underlying burnt orange toast. Not bad but not what one expects with an IPA. Sour long orange marmalade tones but of a "burned" nature and not really pleasant.

Finish is very long dull pine bitter. The lack of bright character in this really detracts from a beer that may otherwise be appealing. Pine finish is a long and lasting final word.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a creamy one finger white head with excellent retention and thick lacing. Aroma of orange family and lighter mixed citrus, piney and citrus hops, light bready malt. Flavor is distinct citrus hops, light lemon, mild grapefruit rind, faintly floral. The flavor seems thin at first, but develops slowly and finishes with several nicely balanced citrus, fruit and hop flavors.Medium bodied with good carbonation. Although the flavor seems subdued at first, the finish and aftertaste and surprisingly complex. A nice change from the standard American West Coast hop bill; not quite as challenging or rewarding, but pleasant and lemon citrusy. A nice off-beat IPA.

I bought this as soon as I saw it to give myself the best chance at freshness. There is no date on the bottle that I could find. The color is murky (hazy) orange. There is a tiny white head, but barely.

The aroma is melony with some butterscotch and bubblegum. Not much hoppiness in the aroma.

The taste starts out mildly sweet with some melon and honey malt sweetness. There is a touch of grassy hops added, but the hop flavor is minimal. The finish is bitter.

This is medium bodied with mellow carbonation.

This is bitter without great flavor. That's a recipe for bad. Maybe if I could get it fresh...

Served in a Chicago Bears shaker pint glass.

Right on, a new Kiwi brewery in town, and one that pays homage to a classic musical troupe. Nice. This offering pours a kinda cloudy sunset straw topped by a finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises yellow grapefruit zest, light lemon zest, light sweet caramel (nicely in the background), and an overarching bit of what seems like toasted caramel corn. I gotta say, as slightly unorthodox as this comes across to my nose, it's more than pleasant. The taste holds notes of grapefruit rind, orange zest, lemon rind, light pine sap, perfume-y flowers, bitter grass, and a touch of mild (though still decently sweet) caramel in the background. The fairly strong bitterness near the finish keeps this from being truly pleasing, but doesn't completely knock things off the tracks. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fairly dry finish. Overall, a pretty solid IPA, something I haven't had too much of from the lands down under. I look forward to trying other things from these guys.

Pours a bright hazy yellow hue which leaves a nice looking two finger head and clingy lacing everywhere, the smell is typical NZ hops with aromas of honeydew, goosberries, lychee, pineapple and boiled candy it really does smell very balanced, the mouthfeel is just under medium bodied and nicely carbonated with tastes of goosberries, lychees, bubblegum, redgum honey, passionfruit, boiled candy and the finish is bittersweet and not overly bitter at all just very drinkable and overall my only regret of this brew is not getting more than the one of as it is one of the better AIPA's(or should i say NZIPA)going around at the moment and i would definately buy this again.

12 oz bottle

A: Cloudy, orange hue, big head.

S: Citrus, fruity, clementines, papaya, peach

T: Oranges, white bread, belgian yeast, some spicey cloves and biscuity malts. Very sweet citrus flavor from hops, not sour/piney/bitter. Floral and clean finish. Mangos/clemantines throughout.

M: Very rich, chewy, very sessionable, awesome.

O: Interesting take on style, its hoppy sort of, must be hops I'm not familiar with, very sweet fruity, almost tastes like a fruit flavored bear. Yeast is definitely belgian, has a wheaty chararcter to it though not a full fledged witbier. Awesome beer that everyone should try.
