500ml bottle bought from Beermerchants.com

Poured a golden yellow colour with a slight haze. Slightly off white head poured thick and foamy with a whipped meringue like topping then faded slowly to good covering with thick edging... barely any carbonation bubbles... lots of sticky lacing all the way down the glass...

Aroma - Juicy tart fruits (grapefruits, pears, lemons, sour apples), marzipan, rubbery notes, very floral and perfumed hops, very grassy, earthy and grainy notes, soapy traces, light biscuity malts, faint toffee and honey sweetness, talcum powder...

Taste - Juicy and slightly spicy fruits (grapefruits, lemons and limes, pear drops sweets), some yeastiness, lots of lasting citrus and grassy hop bitterness, slight chalkiness, pale malts, faint metallic notes, quite herbal...

M&D - Pretty sharp and dry... light bodied... At only 5.7% a good quaffable IPA

Overall - An excellent British pale ale from a fairly new brewery... Recommended...

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a dimpled pint mug. The new 5% version, April '13.

Pours a cloudy golden-yellow colour with a nice white head.

Smells nice and fresh and hoppy.

Tastes refreshing and hoppy, citrusy, fruity and slightly floral.

Overall a great showcase for this hop, fresh and with hardly any malt presence.

Purchased at the Kernel Brewery in London recently, this bottle comes at 5.1%abv.; bottle-conditioned in a 500ml brown bottle, BB 04/11/2011, served cool in a straight imperial pint glass.

A: pours a lightly carbonated, hazy dark golden body, topped with a thin off-white froth to last.
S: some cream and fruity fragrance dominate the nose, predominantly hoppy for sure; orangey-citric sour-sweet fruits (plus a lesser aroma of fat white grapes and mixed tropical fruits) and pale malt's biscuity elements develop after a good swirl, plus a little estery sour hint lagging behind. Very pleasant and hoppy overall.
T: a mildly effervescent swallow of hop juice on top of mildly sweet biscuity malts and lovely sour fruitiness is ensued by a wave of slightly tangy, considerable-strength bitterness that gradually takes over the stage from malts and hop flavour, leaving a chewy palate of hop bitterness and crushed-citric-seed-like tannic undertones to linger endlessly, with a little hint of sour-ish yeastiness revealing itself reluctantly at the end of each sip.
M&D: very very well bottle-conditioned, this pale ale shows a good balance b/w fragrant hops and hop bitterness on a sound malty backbone. Delicious, clean, fresh and quaffable.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Dec 2017 (bottled Aug 2017), so it's a bit out of date. ABV is stated as 5.4%. Purchased a while back from the Brewdog webshop and stored in a box.

A: Poured into a tulip. Bottle conditioned. A bright, hazy amber hue with plentiful floating sediment and intense carbonation. Yields a decent head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.

S: Aroma of fruity hops with hints of tropical fruit, mild citrus, subtle stone fruit, grass/hay, a twinge of herbs, earthiness, ale yeast and grainy malt. Crisp and balanced - nice.

T: Tastes of fruity aromatic hops with notes of tropical fruit, citrus zest, peel, mild stone fruit, white grape, grass/hay, vague herbs, earthiness, ale yeast and caramel malt. Pretty dry, followed by a robust hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with lively carbonation and great body. Somewhat astringent, hop oils tickle the palate. Aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, tropical fruit, citrus, grass, earthiness and grainy malt.

O: Another beautifully balanced pale ale from the Kernel. Despite its age, the character shines through. Looks great, while the aroma and flavour are stuffed with fruity hops underpinned by yeast and malt. Lovely body. Goes down like a dream - well worth sampling if you come across it.
