A - Poured a hazy amber with a thick, firm white head which sits resolutely atop the beer. No streamers or bubbles present. Nice start.

S - Big whack of delicious ripe tropical fruit initially. Once acclimatised, elements of lighter fluid/petrol can be picked up along with musk, which aren't so appealing.

T - Bit of a letdown. Quite vapid to begin with before musky biscuity/caramel comes through. A small background note of the fruit towards the end along with restrained herbal hops. A dry-ish, lengthy finish.

M - Medium body with carbonation that's just slightly too soft, which is surprising given the bottle conditioning.

D - Started so well with the appearance and burst of fruit on the nose. A letdown from thereon in. The flavour doesn't live up to the the quite punchy aroma. A reasonable sipper.

just a world class expression of nelson hops right here, the essence of freshness too right at the brewery! one of my favorites from our visit here, and one of the best hoppy beers i had in london. it has a little more color than i expected it to, a mute orange tone, but the beer isnt malty, only balanced. its all about the nelson hops, which pop and peak and different times during the drink. if you know this hop at all, it will be immediately recognizable here, so juicy and distinctive, with honeydew melon, fresh lemon, white and green grape, elderflower, jasmine, and tea notes, both fruity and floral, not quite tropical punch, vinous and interestingly oily once i get it in my mouth. usually this isnt a hop i associate with that slick resinous west coast mouthfeel from the hops, but thats exactly whats happening here, really cool. some kiwi fruit, more melon, and lots of fruity spriny white wine notes, a soft citrus backing, and enough malt to hold it all up without getting too involved in the flavor. medium body, awesome carbonation, and high refinement. the hops are the first and last thing i taste here, and overall this is pretty special stuff. i love all the experimentation with hop combinations these guys are doing with their pales and ipa types, everything we had in these categories was polished and on point. this was a real highlight!

Bottle enjoyed in the alley by the brewery; poured into a goblet. This particular batch was listed at 6.1%.

A: Cloudy orange body with a thin, frothy white head. The cap disappears rather quickly, but a swirl of the glass creates a new head and this one sticks around better and leaves some nice lace. Not bad.

S: Heady hop aroma - lychee, passion fruit, grapefruit, and tennis ball felt. Crazy and enticing.

T: Ridiculously fruity hops. Ridiculous. All kinds of tropical fruit flavors, from pineapple and lime to passionfruit and kiwi. Dry, bitter, chalky finish. The finish is a bit rough, but the flavors are explosive.

M: Creamy, lively medium body. Solid.

O: Man Nelson Sauvin is an insane hop. Every time I drink a new beer with this hop I find yet another strange, yet fascinating fruit flavor. I can't wait for my local brewery to do an all-Nelson DIPA...

Pours pale gold with a very persistent head. The body is light-medium and moderately carbonated. The aroma is intensely fruity - gooseberry and grapefruit domiate. The flavour is similar, but less intense. Strong fruity hops dominate and present a smooth, well-integrated bitterness.

Very smooth feel and ending. The hops lean more towards citrus than pine, but the whole beer is well balanced in every direction. One could drink many of these!
