Simcoe, Citra, Columbus, Apollo, Nelson Sauvin

From a 330ml bottle at the Sussex Arms poured into a half pint glass

Cloudy amber-gold in colour with a decent enough white head on display, slowly subsiding as you drink

Hoppy citrus aroma, some pine/wood in the nose

Flavour wise stronger tropical citrus fruits, pineapple, maybe a little grapefruit and a smidge of hay/grass

Medium bodied, but seemingly light on the palate for 7% with a bitter sweet finish

It's Kernel - it's good !

Pale amber with clingy white froth that rings. Incredible fresh hop sack nose: floral, orange, funk, resin; complex and bright.
Fresh OJ with a bit of mango and caramel then lemon peel and tangerine hops with a sweet & sour grittiness underneath, like biting a hard candy.
Dusty white grape end and dry kiwi linger. Medium, soft, some chew, oily.

Spectacular hops, the layering truly shows - only Simcoe seems to be missing. Smooth, sweet and citrusy with low IBUs and no burn - so drinkable.

Kernel can't lose.

Pours an unusual dark orange color, which is completely hazed, coming along with an extremely stable, half finger broad head.

Smells of an intense, ripe exotic fruitiness, tied together by sappy lemon. A grassy dankness pushes the lemon qualities even a bit further, while complimenting orange, papaya and peach at the same time. Malts provide a subtle breadiness, while the aroma's spotlight is certainly on the luscious, juicy fruits.

The mouthfeel of all the Kernel beers I've had so far is certainly one of their most outstanding qualities, and this one won't let you down either. It dinks utmost smooth, while providing an enjoyable freshness at the same time, while perfectly highlighting the beers key aspect - the hops.

Tastes of a resinous dankness from the very beginning, amped up by slightly bittering lemon peel. While the flavor intensity at that point is already pretty high, the beer sonehow manages to include an outstraightening aqueous quality, while also introducing fruity peach pulp to the palate. Provides a well accentuated toffee maltiness, complimenting the ripeness of the fruits, while a profound lime bitterness still cuts through. Finishes with a pleasant medium dryness, still relying on the beers fruity aspects, with a resin coated aqueous softness returning to the tongue.

Fantastic ipa, outstandingly great mouthfeel paired with a well build hop profile, convincing throughout. Very juicy, not overly bitter, heading into the New England style ipa direction, while adding an awesome mouthfeel to it.
