330nl bottle courtesy of Thirstybird (thanks Rian). Bottled on 11/23/2016; best by 3/23/2017. Pours a hazy, honey-gold with a frothy, half inch, bright white head that settles into a solid skim. Swaths of lacing are evident during the tasting. Nice nose - suggestions of tropical fruit and honeydew melon. Taste leads with cracked malts, followed by a hint of the elements suggested by the nose and an earthy/herbal quality. Mouthfeel is light in body with a carbonation shy of lively, a hint of acidity and a semi-dry finish. Overall, a solid IPA despite the age. Wish I had the opportunity to try this sooner.

Bottle shared at Pre-Borefts Ratebeer Tasting 2016. Hazy straw yellow with a thin white head. Notes of citrus and tropical fruit. Medium body, medium to high carbonation and a bitter-sweet finish.

Fresh from the brewery.
Appearance: Nice and cloudy with a sustaining white head.
Taste: A piquant orange marmalade and burned toast profile. At 7% it's pretty watery. Very dry with lots of zest.
Overall: The Kernel are great at what they do but some are better than others and this is one of their more generic tasting offerings.

Yields a cloudy golden-amber color with a small, stable white head.

Offers a very diversified, inviting hop profile, featuring water melon, blood orange, pine apple, apple peel and a soft touch of lime. The beer has a honey sweet maltiness to it, which gets balanced by lime and wet grass, leaving the focus on the hops. A skunky sweet undertone adds to the malts, countering the beers otherwise utmost refreshing, crisp impression.

Has a very soft, medium carbonation, establishing a creamy, pleasant mouthfeel.

Tastes from the very beginning of a profound, honey sweet maltiness with an aqueous softness to it, together with a note of dough. Hops add a nice, lemony bite to the honey, carefully establishing a crisp counterpart to the malts. Until the finish, malts and hops are pretty much on par, with a well working, soothing aqueous quality being well recognizable. Dank qualities with prickly, juicy lemon get most distinct after the swallow, while leaving the palate in a clean, smooth fashion.

This drinks fairly easy, while its actual hop qualities shine surprisingly late, which may be due to the honey maltiness, getting picked up way faster than the complex bitterness. On the palate, hops appear to be much more streamlined than on the nose, which may be necessary to be able to balance the profound malt backbone effectivly. They are certainly able to do so, even removing an initial malty slickness, while establishing a convincing, pungent lime punch.

Almost a half pint at the Craft Beer co Clerkenwell.

A: Cloudy, golden, not much of a head, minimal amount of lacing.

S: Mango, not too much else but nice.

T: On the sweet side, also followed the nose, subtle for a stronger beer, not too boozy.

M: Smooth, slightly chewy texture, tiniest hint of a coarse edge from the booze.

O: I really liked this one, didn’t over do anything, but was pretty interesting.

I don't find the subtle blueberry you'd expect in a Mosaic hopped beer, and the blatant untamed hop bitterness carries it swiftly into imbalance. Standard pale malt base.

Overcarbonated and unrefreshing.

Drinkable. Merely above average for the style. Does hide its ABV well.

Served chilled into a tulip glass.

NIce light yellow but with a cloudy darker haze (not chill haze). Intriguing.

Very light fruity citrus smell. Grapefruit?

Nice mild small fizz on the tongue.

Lovely light citrus flavour but with a broad beery taste (helpful I know!). Only mild astringency despite hops smell.

Thirst quenching and very refreshing. Not as good as I was expecting but good new wave IPA.

Bottled on 4 March 2014.

A. Quite pale with a nice white head that lasts.

S. Tons of tropical fruit. Pineapple, citrus, peach, apricot. Some pine and herbs as well, also a bit grassy. Very good.

T. Less fruit than the nose, balanced by fairly strong Pine and Grass. A nice citrus flavour in the middle along with some hints of peach and apricot. The malt profile is only lightly present, balancing the hops and bitterness a bit. Finished quite bitter, yet without getting sharp. Very pleasant. Great taste, yet less then the smell.

M. Perfectly carbonated, and pretty smooth. Perfect for an IPA.

O. Very solid beer with a very rich smell that overwhelms the taste a tiny bit. Brewed with only one hop, yet still quite complex. A very good and balanced IPA, in both Fruit/Spicey as in sweet/bitter.

Bottled March 4 2014.

The beer is cloudy orange in colour, with a smallish white head. Head goes pretty quickly.

Great nose on this one. Bright and fruity, quite tropical, but some citrus as well. Pineapple, lychee, orange.

Taste is also good, but not as remarkable as the nose. Still bright and fruity, with a grapefruit presence, but there is now a notable weedy, herbal flavour - which is not a bad thing. Fairly bitter. A decent caramel malt base.

Medium bodied, moderately to strongly carbonated. A bit oily.

Overall, very nice stuff. A very good IPA.
