First off the cap comes off tough and makes a crazy noise like breaking glass. Strange cap with the plastic insert.
This pour is like a mini movie. Initial pour yeilds mounds of off-white suds adorning a clear and effervescent root beer colored brew. Then all at one time the bubbles quickly leave and these snakey bubbles fight each other for dominance. Gotta give that a 5.
Smell is very bretty and oakey with grape skin and sour green apples. Some malt and sugar way in the back along with that nose burning yeast.
Taste is bitter/sour like putting alum in your mouth as a kid. The flavor soon turns to oak and brett wine. There is alcohol here but stays in the shadows.
Mouthfeel is very clean but there is an aftertaste that is almost like formaldyhide(sp) or at least like it smells. Not a bad thing , just an odd thing.
Overall this is a great beer and the only thing I would have against it is the price.19 bucks for 12 oz.
I will buy this again and mabey put it away for a few years to see if the odd taste mellows out.

Tap @ Moor, Bristol - Pours light red with a small foamy white head. Medium carbonation. Nice lacing. Aroma - fruits - cranberries/grapes, acidic and woody notes in the back. Taste - Tart, sweetish, ripe fruits - cranberries/raspberries/grape notes, oaky feel. Nice fruity sour.

Brewed in 2011

Appearance: It has a nice dark ruby/brown color to it. It has practicly no head and leaves next to no lacing.

Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of red grapes, tart cherries, a decent amount of oak and some definite funk.

Taste: Like the aromas, it has some red grapes (some red wine characteristics), tart berries, woody oak and some funk.

Mouthfeel: It has a low carbonation with a nice overall balance and feel.

Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied by good flavors and aromas. Not quite as sour as I hoped it would be but the flavors still work well together.

Barbera comes through very nicely in the taste, but aroma is a little off. Sort of rotten.

Had on tap poured into wine glass. A very muddy murky brown and orange copper with no head. A pleasant sourness up front with a very strange aftertaste. Don't really know how to describe it but I like it. Like sour bread maybe...? Anyway, this was pretty awesome for me.

4 oz pour on tap

A: dark amber body hazy almost no head

S: lots of grapes apples and vinegar

T: the grapes really hit your tongue hard and then you get the vinegar but not a lot of the bite. Then it ends with a musty grainy yeasty taste almost a cereal

M: medium feel low carbonation

O: very tasty beer but not tart as I was expecting very easy drinking very impressed with the grapes.

375 ml bottle, label says brewed in 2010. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a dark reddish/purple color with about a half inch light pink head. Head retention is good, but there isn't much lacing. Aroma is very fruity, it smells like dark berries (both sweet and tart), grapes, oak and some funk. The taste is similar to the aroma (it's a mostly fruity brew), but there's also the addition of some lemon peel. There's a nice mix between the sweet and tart flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium, with moderate carbonation. I think it's a good overall brew. Worth a try.

poured from 375 into a tulip. Pours a dark red color with a small head.

Good dark red fruit aromas with some tart aromas of leather, dark red cherries and some funk.

real nice medium body with a good tartness to it. Not overly tart though with good flavors of funk, leather, and dark red fruits.

An extremely good sour styled beer. Not cheap, but still a real good beer.

Bottle: Poured a clear reddish color ale with a medium size off-white foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of oak and tart notes is very interesting with subtle acidic notes. Taste is a nice mix between loads of oak which brings out cherry tart notes with a light acidic finish. Body is about average with good carbonation. Another great sour from this brewery though I must admit that there is quite a few resemblances between their Flanders Red.
