De Combini Market. En copa Teku. Jugando a Avernum 6. Buen cuerpo para tan bajo abv, con cierta cremosidad. Agradable sabor a galletas y frutos secos que le da bastante personalidad

Whilst on business in Moscow they had this beer as an option in my minibar, I tried it and loved it. Each night I would open the fridge hoping that room service had replenished my favorite brew.
I found not only the bottle entertaining but the taste worked for me, refreshing and somewhat comforting.
I have been trying to find somewhere in the UK that sell this but to no avail, if you know of somewhere please do let me know!
Also, in bars and at the airport it was less than £2 a pint! As a benchmark Guinness was £4.50.

Got it from Russia. Unusual bottle shape !
A - Reddish color, nice white head, lasting long enough for this style. Medium carbonation.
S - Some fruits, but nothing special.
T/M - Real rubbish, almost undrinkable. Cheap cereals, watery, unpleasant bitter finish with carbonation in the mouth. Some smokiness.

O - Really, what is this ? Awful

500ml uniquely (and dareisay charmingly) shaped brown glass bottle with an ornate pull-tab pressure cap acquired at a beer store in Warsaw and served into an Utenos glass in me friend's gaff in Vilnius, Lithuania. Reviewed live. Expectations are above average; I believe this is my first Russian beer and I'm in the mood for a Vienna lager.

Served at fridge temp. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.

4.50% alcohol. 11.0% Ekstrakt. Imported by De Gusta Beer, Warsaw. Best before: 23.01.15. Brewed: 23.04.14.

No bubble show forms as it's poured.

HEAD: Four fingers wide. White colour. It's not real frothy, creamy, or thick, but it has a decent overall consistency. It could be softer and more inviting, but it does boast a nice retention (~5 minutes). Leaves no lacing as it recedes.

BODY: Colour is a clear deep copper of super vibrance. Great clarity. Rising carbonation bubbles look great in the golden-copper body and suggest perfection carbonation. It's clean, with no visible yeast particulate or hop sediment.

Overall, it looks fantastic given the style, even if the head could be more appealing. Easily the best Vienna lager appearance in recent memory. I can't wait to try it.

AROMA: Surprisingly, it's quite buttery, though I don't know that it's necessarily from diacetyl; that's beyond my capability to detect. I do get some sweet helles malts, mild floral hop notes, caramalt, sweetbread, and hint of toffee, but I really have to search for them beneath the dominant buttery character.

There's no alcohol presence, yeast character, or off-notes.

Overall, it's a fairly pleasant aroma of average strength. I can't say it's really spot-on for a Vienna lager.

TASTE/TEXTURE: Buttery as all hell, in taste and in texture. There's a dab of bready sweetness, some Munich & helles malts, and some faint caramel, but that's it, really. Painfully simple all around.

Shockingly, there's no Vienna malt presence. The buttery character dominates the flavour profile to its detriment.

I don't mind this, but it's closer to buttery English styles than to the Vienna lager.

Smooth, wet, slick, buttery, slightly overcarbonated, medium-bodied, and a bit too thick for the style. This texture doesn't work all that well with the taste. Overall presence on the palate is decent.

OVERALL: Even a run-of-the-mill Vienna lager would have been more satisfying. Outside of style conventions, it's not a bad brew, but I don't think the discerning drinker could ever consider this any better than average. I'll have no trouble finishing the entire 500ml; it's drinkable enough. But I wouldn't buy it again. Perhaps the most enjoyable aspect of the beer is its unique bottle design.
