A Colorado approach to the American take of an English classic, we use three aggressive, yet floral American hops teamed together to make a bright, citrusy, and floral IPA. A deep caramel malt helps to balance the bitterness of the hops and lets the complex hop bill do its hoppy thing.

Bright and clear amber body; excellent carbonation; dense and creamy white head. A bit of caramel malt smell with a slight touch of floral and estery hop notes. Rich, sweet caramel malt taste; moderate hop bitterness pokes through about mid-way and builds a bit at the finish. Medium-heavy body; mildly warm and sticky; a touch of alcohol warmth; dry mouthfeel primarily.

Since the brewery state they've based this beer on English IPA styles, I'd say they hit the mark. It certainly presents a malt-forward character. It also drinks smoothly and easily. An all-around fine old-school IPA.

Presentation: 12 oz. can with no dates. Served in a tulip-shaped tumbler.

Appearance: The rocky, two finger head stays around for a very long time and leaves behind a lot of thick lacing that covers the entire glass. It's a clear, deep gold color.

Smell: It's a dank aroma of pine followed by a strong floral, perfume-y note right after.

Taste: It's quite bitter with a strong grassy note at first. A bitter, waxy, citrus peel flavor comes in later.

Mouthfeel: It's medium bodied but refreshing with medium-high carbonation.

Overall: It's an okay beer at the end of the day. It doesn't stand out in any way but there's nothing particularly bad about it either.

I guess I got a six pack of a bad batch, too. Truly the worst beer I’ve tasted. Someone called Aspirin-ish, spot on with notes of gasoline. Beautiful can art, though.
