12 ounce can. Thanks Joe D for the sample

Enjoyed in a tulip, it pours hazed and muddy, with an almost greenish olive oil tint. Large off white head, that stays nicely. Then leaves thick cling and strands of lacing.

Lemons and assorted light citrus on the nose.

Flavorful wit, more oranges, wheat and moderate yeast on the palate.

Hops on the back dry things out nicely. Maybe a bit thin mouthfeel wise

Nothing amazing, but this is a decent tasting, worth trying wit. Suprised by some of the low ratings people have been giving this one

From a can poured into a shaker glass. Appearance: Hazy straw, 2” foam cap dissipates to ¼” film Smell: has a very spicey nose that approaches perfumey. The orange peel is very strong as is the coriander and the grains of paradise. There is some chamomile in there contributing to the perfumey quality.Taste: This beer has a lot added into it for as light as it is. Along with all the spice it’s almost like an orange lemon juice was added. Mouthfeel: Overall: This is a fun beer that borders on a shandy – all the additions overwhelm the beer base. For balance it could use some hops or tartness.

12oz can - another loopy wildlife association, this time a fox, I think?

This beer pours a slightly hazy, medium golden yellow colour, with one thick finger of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly chalky white head, which leaves some low-lying streaky lace around the glass as things quickly move on.

It smells of gritty and grainy cereal malt, somewhat acrid lemon zest, some indistinct floral notes, subtle black pepper and clove spice, and a bit of earthy yeastiness. The taste is bready and crackery pale malt, a lesser grainy wheatiness, mixed pithy citrus, very gentlemanly yeast, muddled dusty spice, more weird floral tea-like character, and a hint of leafy, weedy, and musty green hoppiness.

The carbonation is adequate in its structurally supportive frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and mostly smooth, with just a touch of that strange floral essence maybe taking things down a peg or so here. It finishes trending dry, the crackery malt, spices, and flowers still tickling my tastebuds on the way out.

Overall, this is an interesting version of the style, as the major metrics are all there, with the addition of that oft-mentioned wild flower quotient, one that, while provocative at first, starts to tire by the end of the serving. Yeah, this is a one and done for me.

The LavaLake Wit has a interesting twang to it. The beer poures an clear yellow with thin white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The smell includes a lemon zest with hints of grass. The taste has an acidic flare to it with lemon and blood orange seemingly dominating the taste. The mouthfeel is average....lighter in body with decent carbonation. Overall this is not a good wit and I would not go seeking to have this beer again....It should also be known that I'm not a huge Wit fan.

Almost a finger of head on a hazy, light straw colored body.
The aroma had a little honey and grain. Faint overall though.
The taste was pleasant if light. The mildest bitter lemon note and a little spice.
The texture was crisp with moderate carbonation.
Not bad.

A too sweet and salty mix: tasted like a salty Vietnamese soda pop.

12 oz. can poured into a Logsdon chalice.

Appearance - Bright yellow hazy body. Big white fluffy head. Well-retained. Wispy on the surface when it settles.

Smell - Lots of spice. Coriander is the only one I can really distinguish. Lots of wheat, too.

Taste - Something like cinnamon right at the start. Strange. Grainy wheat flavor midrange and a spicy bite at the end. No real depth. Mostly spice.

Mouthfeel - It's light and crispy. Easy drinking, if low in flavor. Funny aftertaste, though.

Overall - No better than any other wit out there. Way over spiced, but it does make the nose interesting.

Thanks to the creator of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is sweet, some citrus. Taste is also sweet, mild, some citrus, a bit of apple, kind of unusual for the style. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.
