this is probably the best beer crazy mountain has ever made. its so ripe and alive with wet hop character, vegetal and sticky and dank as they get, just a great bottle of ale here. i like the label too. its golden in color, crystal clear, sunny, decadent looking, with a short bone white head that doesnt last a real long time but definitely is easy to reawaken with a little nudge of the glass. the nose on this is awesome, leafy fresh hops, with some fruity character. i get a little melon and even a touch of peppery spice to them, wild and fun. the taste is the same, a touch sweet from the oils of the hops and the honey like malt base. carbonation is prickly and lifts the hops to an even more expressive level. freshness is key here, makes this beer special, but the varietals in this are unique and really tasty. crazy mountain has sort of stagnated a little bit for me, same old stuff from them, but this is a massive leap in the right direction and one of my favorite fresh hop beers of the year this year.

S. Wet grsss. Lemon peel. Hops. Dill (weird).

T. Super hoppy. Has some notes of oak. Spruce. Light citrus. Sugar malt. Some sour aftertaste.

M. Medium bordering on light. Kind of watery but just greasy enough from the hops to give it a nice feel.

O. Unique brew. Hard to explain. The wine barrel and fresh hop thing got me but it is a great tasting beer. Litte sour or funk from the wine, which disappointed. All in all I really liked this. To say the lack of wine presence hurt it - I don't know. That was what made me curious to begin with. Check it out if you get the chance.

On tap at Hops and Pie.

A: Pours a clear pale copper with a thin white head which leaves good lace rings.

N: Faint citrus, floral and malt. Not so aromatic for a "fresh hop" offering.

T: Perfumy floral and citrus. Some resiny sticky herbal spices

M: Semi-medium body and moderate carbonation. Dry and slightly bitter finish.

O: Decent, but was expecting more.

Pours a clear, amber color. 1/3 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of strong citrus hops, strong floral hops, and hint of pale malt. Fits the style of an American Pale Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of earthy malt, citrus hops, slight sweet malt, hint of pale malt, and hint of floral hops. Overall, great appearance, good feel and blend.
