Be prepared for dogs, EVERYWHERE, without leashes and very little room on any given day. I have been here a few times and the themes have not changed at all. The place gets crowded quickly and on a cold night it is packed. I enjoyed the beers and the variety was massive, but I would like to see a little more space. I also wish more of their employees weren't just standing around when the place is packed.

Easily accessible off of I-70 on your way to or from the mountains. The interior has unfinished drywall for the ceiling, which I would rather see exposed ductwork and framing, but perhaps it is a work in progress. There were three ladies behind the counter that were friendly and helpful. They have $4 pints to drink and sell their pint and goblet glasses for $5, which seems to be the going rate in Colorado for the most part. Dogs were aloud inside. They also had a patio with a food truck outside that was quaint, but adjacent to the parking lot and not far from the freeway. All in all, a neat stop on a road trip.

We found this place on a whim back in October. I know I'm a bit late with the review. I just had a can of the Boohai Red and remember the place like it was yesterday and just have to review it.

This place is just off of I-70 behind a small strip plaza. We found it because the coffee shop was closed and we walked around the buildings and looked down to see some kegs and a grain silo out side. We were amazed to see such a big list of offerings for what looked like a small place. We did the tasting flight and for $7 to try 10 different beers and we were floored with the quality. We went through them all and searched for flaws and for the most part we couldn't find any. The reserve beer was a peach bourbon barrel aged IPA, the peach was subtle as well as the burbon character, well balanced and almost quaffable. The other highlight was the Lava Lake Wit, of which we bought a 6 pack of cans to go. The merchandise was plenty and my wife even bought a stylish hat. The view of the mountains while sitting on picknick tables enjoying some fine brews made our day. We'll never forget this place as cheesy as that sounds. This place is definitely worth a visit.

This is a small operation just north of the Vail and Beaver Creek ski resorts and just off I-70. It's a dog friendly place and a couple were waiting at the door when I arrived. I stopped in on a Friday afternoon and got a sampler of the 10 beers they currently had on tap. It's a very laid back and friendly place to just chill and sip a few beers, play a classic old pinball machine and waste away the moments that make up a dull day. The beers are all fairly solid and very much in line with the brewery's descriptions. Definitely my brewery of choice, when heading back over Vail pass is more trouble than it's worth.

I think easily the best location and views of a brewery between Denver and grand junction on i70. epic scenery out the back, smaller artsy garage opens up to some cool outside seating. inside is a bunch of hand made picnic tables and really cool paintings, a blackboard menu displays the beers on, of which there are maybe 6. lazy dogs hanging out all over the place, dead tunes playing, my kind of gig. beers are all above average, a few are exceptional. I had a barrel aged coffee stout that was surprisingly mellow, and my lady enjoyed an interesting fruited beer. the bartender/brewer was nice, and we actually share a birthday! prices were plenty fair, although some of the bombers to go looked a little steep. this was a gorgeous place to sit and drink fine ale and watch the sun go down, and I am already eager to go back, more for the vibe than the beer, but the beer is quite good as well. my favorite stop on the i70 brew tour we put together.

edit: the new spot at the old breckenridge on kalamath is pretty cool too. similar feel to the way breck used to be, similar theme with the bbq, but some cool guest taps, some taproom only beers, and generally awesome people about the place. i absolutely loved the fir needle golden ale, nothing quite like it here in colorado. well done!

We stopped in at Crazy Mountain on our way to Eagle, CO to visit family. This is a "tap room" in the raw... and, yet, we loved the place. It isn't super easy to find. One you exit the I-70, head south, and after the third roundabout hang a sharp right where Subway is located drive west past Subway to the lower level. Look for a door sign that says Crazy Mountain.

Inside it looks like a warehouse; this is a "tap room" in the buff. Grain bags were scattered about and other odds and ends. Messy... dirty even... kind of charming! One long table to sit at and a few bar stools and whatnot; at our visit there was a mix of locals and travelers. We all sat around and shot the shit together. I didn't take notes of the beer but the IPA was solid, as was a spiced holiday beer... the Saison and Belgian Wit were awful and reeked of sulfur. The amber ale was decent. Like I said, I didn't take beer notes. They had around 8 - 10 beers on-tap.

The lady behind the bar was helpful and friendly. A couple brewers were around too. They seemed to have a projection TV (wasn't on) but they had music playing as well as the sounds of a functional brewery. Another (cool to us) thing about this place it is dog-friendly. We were entertained by three young pups playing together and even bringing a tennis ball to various people to play fetch with. If you're not a dog lover like we were you might not find it as charming.

No food.

The bathroom was located behind the bar.

I enjoyed my stay. Overall, we had a couple pints each and shared a sampler tray. A couple winners, a couple duds... the rest were okay.

I would assume that this place will get more polished over time, maybe it won't. Maybe the simple brewery feel is all they want. I liked it. I'd stop again.

Oh, they do offer beer to go... growlers and cans.
