Unfortunately, its been 11 years a rstaurant with marginal beers. Lots of outdoor tables but it smells inside of hops and old ber and not very atractive. Not one beer was god now even kess so than 11 years ago.

Visited here twice as part of a multi brewery bus tours. The location was very convenient and the atmosphere was really cool (I liked all the historic local beer ads and labels they had on the wall). They had a nice range of beers. The hefe, the dunkel and the saison really stood out. The food I tried was tasty as well. Would like to visit here again on my own when there would be more time available.

Visited on a Sunday, just before dinner. A dance troupe was holding a fund raiser so the place was hopping.
V - A friendly atmosphere with the standard chalkboard for beers. Production area visible from the bar. Interesting, one set of taps did not have a drain below and the bartenders were using a plastic container to catch spillage. A towny place if I've ever been in one. Folks riding their bikes and getting growlers fills. 3.75
Q - Good variety of beers, but the beers I tried were nothing but average (Farmhouse IPA and Dime Bag). Great glassware, but issues with completely cleaning the glasses. Tap lines run overhead from a keg storage area in the production side of the facility. 3.5
Ser - Bartenders were friendly, nice and knowledgeable. 4.0
Sel - As noted above, a good selection. Something for everyone. 4.0
F - Burger was above average. Fries OK. 3.75

Wednesday Dec10/14 (lunch time) travelling west on Bay St. arrive and halve no problem with traffic or parking (Bay St is kinda busy if travelling eastward.)
Seat ourselves by the fireplace and are quickly asked our drink orders , 2 Creepy Uncle Dunkelweizen & a Sticke Stout , after a glance at the menu , order a goat cheese salad , bbq chicken burger/fries & oyster burger/fries , after another Sticke Stout the food arrives , mom's salad is ok dressing not what she wanted , sister's burger/fries good two thumbs up , my oyster burger/fries good , fries thumbs up , butt the best was the Chocolate Stout cake for dessert , split three ways
(hey I got taken out for lunch , as an early birthday present) prost LampertLand

For my money, MUW has perhaps the most consistent high quality lineup of beers in Victoria. Not flashy beers, not wacky fruity beers, not high alcohol beer bombs -- just good well balanced beers. And my veggie burger was good too -- it's steep at $13 but tasty and lots of above average fries. Good friendly service.
Now for the downside of MUW: the room itself is boring and completely uninspiring, like a pub from the early 80s. No patio, no window seats but then again would you really want to look at the industrial area surrounding the pub?
For me, I'll seek out their beers at other pubs or in the bottle.

A note to indicate that the Moon Under Water is now under new ownership and the place is getting a makeover, beginning with the beer, which is now focused on German, rather than English styles (Weizenbock, Dunkel, Pilsner). These beers have been outstanding so far and there are often highly unusual casks on offer each Wednesday. Brewer Clay Potter got his degree in Edinburgh and has returned home to Victoria along with his fiancée Chelsea - they are very enthusiastic and have lots of plans to liven the place up. Now open Sundays as well - definitely worth a visit.
