16 oz. Can
Canned On: 02/07/17
ABV: 7.5%
Poured into a Squatters true pint glass a pretty nice hazy golden yellow color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy one-finger plus white head, which also leaves some pretty nice thick/creamy sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, citrusy, piney. The taste is hoppy, citrusy, with some nice pineyness. Medium body, ABV hidden pretty well, with a nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, a pretty tasty IPA. My 2nd from this brewery.

16oz can with the batch all smudged on the bottom. This just showed up in Denver so I would hope they sent something relatively fresh but the flavor tells me this may be a couple months old. Bright yellow color, decent lace andshort head. Aroma is mild lemon and citrus. Flavor rotates between this weird stale malt and a mild orange and lemon flavor. Overall I am pretty sure this is a couple months old based on the flavor.

From tasting notes 10/21/16. Had on-tap@ Alley Katz in Citrus Heights, CA
Appearance - Served up in a pint, this brew is hazy and copper in color with a thin, off-white layer of suds stretching across the surface. Not much for lacing outside a random spot or two.
Smell - Mild lemon peel with a hint of bread and caramel.
Taste - Follows the nose to a degree. Mild lemony character with plenty of toasted white bread following shortly. Lesser spice. A hint of caramel. A bit of fruitiness. The finish hints mildly at lemon dish soap, which I can't get jiggy with.
Mouthfeel - On the fuller side of medium-bodied with slightly bitey carbonation. Sits heavy in the finish, especially for the style.
Overall - Yeah, I'm not feeling this beer. It's not terrible, but there's nothing here that would drive me to want to drink it again. The way this beer finishes has a lot to do with that.

Better than Sculpin. If you want a better beer than this off a store shelf, then get the Grapefruit Solis. The only better regular IPA I've had has been at a local brewery that doesn't bottle their beer.
