Dark with a great head. Very rye forward with malty, chocolatey notes. Very good beer!

Picked up a bottle from the Craft Beer Hop Stop in late December for $6.99. Bottled on 11-30-14.

Beer poured black with a nice tan head that has some great hang time.

Nose is roasted malts .

Taste is well balanced between the spicy rye malts and a generous amount of hops.

Mouthfeel is full and very satisfying.

Overall this was a very good beer, on par with a lot of the west coast brewers. Definitely try it if you come across it!

Update: 1/25/2016
Imperil Rye IPA: huge body with bitter roasted character, chocolate, maple syrup, smokiness. The puckering bitterness throughout is offputting. Would like to try variatis though: coconut, coffee, peanut butter, and barrel aged.
