Extremely dark brown with an almost two finger khaki head that stayed for awhile leaving dots and streaks of lacing.
Roasted citrus pine aroma.
Coffee chocolate on the palate with a slight piney finish. More citrus as it warms.
A bit more than medium almost creamy mouthfeel.
I'm really enjoying this style and look forward to more in the future.

Appearance: Black (slightly brown at the edges) with a short off-white head, leaving crocheted lacing on the way down.
Smell: Roast malts, slightly piney.
Taste: Big departure from the smell. Hops and malts blend together right from the start. Slightly fruity hops, coffee, cranberry, into chocolate. Into roast malts, not too much sweetness, just a little booze on the end. Leaves some residual hop aftertaste. Leans a bit more towards hops as it warms.
Mouthfeel: Pretty thick, moderate carbonation.
Overall: I like it! Does a good job of balancing hops and roast malts.
