Iron Maiden TrooperIron Maiden Trooper
Notes: TROOPER takes its name from the Iron Maiden song which is inspired by the famous Charge of the Light Brigade. Being a real ale enthusiast, vocalist Bruce Dickinson has developed a beer which has true depth of character.

TROOPER is a Premium British Beer inspired by Iron Maiden and handcrafted at Robinsons brewery. Malt flavours and citric notes from a unique blend of Bobec, Goldings and Cascade hops dominate this deep golden ale with a subtle hint of lemon.

Pours a clear amber color with visible sparsely bubbling carbonation. A moderate frothy head retains well.
The aroma evokes biscuity and toasty malts, and is sweet with notes of caramel and toffee. The light hops aromas reveal hints of grass and mildly bright floral notes.
By contrast, the taste opens with a light bitterness, from the hops, balanced by toasty and biscuity amber and pale malts. Well attenuated, the malts are relatively dry and offer a modest sweetness. Moderate hops spice evokes bright floral notes and grass.
Medium bodied and soft mouthfeel. The carbonation is gentle, making for smooth and mellow drinking. The finish is medium, moderately dry and with a touch of malty sweetness.
I like the simplicity and drinkability of English Bitters and wish I had more available. Although the reviews do not seem particularly high, I thought it was well crafted and understatedly pleasant to drink.

it's actually not bad...... I've heard low opinions on this, but it's actually a pretty decent brew. definitely a British beer and definitely a 'bitter'. low abv but a lot of character not over-hopped....

16.9 oz. can

Pours clear rusty amber orange with a creamy off-white foam head. Smells like tea, flowers, herbs, orange marmalade, citrus jam, rich caramel malts, toasted bread crust, toffee, caramelized cracker, dried fruits, with floral herbal earthy grassy pine. Taste follows a bit darker with similar notes of tea, flowers, herbs, orange marmalade, grapefruity citrus jam, some lemon, apple skin, rich caramel malts, toasted bread crust, dark toffee, caramelized cracker, dried fruit, with floral herbal earthy grassy pine. Feels medium bodied, slick and creamy with smooth moderate low carbonation. Overall a really great ESB.

Iron Maiden Trooper brewed by Robinsons Family Brewers, with an ABV of 4.70% This brew pours out a nice deep amber color with a nice white head. This brew has the look of most brews on the market, maybe a bit darker. I'm not saying that is a bad thing, the color is nice. The smell of Iron Maiden Trooper, is rich with grains , and malts. You do pick up on some hops at the end of this brew. There is also a nice sweetness to the smell of this brew. Now for the taste, it is bold with flavors. You pick up on a lot of grins in the taste of this brew. Nothing bad, there are a few hops in the taste as well. There is also a nice mild smooth ,sweetness to the taste of this brew. This is a nice drinking brew. There is nothing overpowering about Iron Maiden Trooper, it has a real nice balance to it. The body to this brew is lighter than most but not to light. The mouthfeel is Bold, smooth, light , and refreshing. Overall I'm giving Iron Maiden Trooper a 4.25 out of 5. Robinsons Family Brewers did a nice job with this one. I would buy this brew again.

I love the early Dickinson years with Iron Maiden, Piece of Mind, Powerslave, Somewhere in Time are my favorites, that is the era the Trooper comes from. Once I have to try this ale, I always thought and finally it is here.
Bruce Dickinson helped to develop this brew they say. Looks very amber-y and smells surprisingly hoppy almost in a way Czech Lezáks do! Breadiness goes along with it that continues in the taste as well: hoppy, malty, bready, slightly lemon and suddenly kind of filmy bitter, semi-dry in the end? This twist at the end of the taste is a little surprising... although not bad at all and you can get used to it by the second sip. To set the rank: the nose and the first impression of a sip is the best, wish it stayed that way, from where it gets slightly weaker. But you want to keep returning to it and sip again and again, exactly because of this impressive smell and first feeling.
Glad that I tried it, not disappointed with it at all.

Very unique beer. I don't usually go for lighter beers, but the use of cascade hops in this ale give The Trooper a bitter and refreshing kick like Dave Murray's riff on the titular track of Iron Maiden's classic album.

A present from a friend. Pour is nice and clear, amber color. Thin head, usual for the style. Malt forward, light toast aroma. Taste is mid-line English pub bitter, spot-on in that style. Not as fresh as the traditional pulled ales. I'm no fan of Iron Maiden music, but it does appeal to some. Same for the beer.
