In the grand scheme of things this isn’t a store to rave about; however, considering that it's in the small town of Statesville, NC, they do quite a nice job of offering interesting and occasionally rare brews.

As the name implies, 99% of the shop is devoted to grapes. The beer section is in the front right of the store and is comprised of a couple of shelves of mostly good stuff. There’s a small cooler too that holds some chilled brews and a decent selection of meats and cheeses. You can eat and drink on site, I’ve been told, although I’ve not seen anyone actually do it.

The most knowledgeable beer person is a guy who is only there on Monday & Tuesday: nice guy, he’ll beer-chat you up. Let him know what you’re looking for, he’ll try to get it in for you.

This isn’t a destination for folks from a fair drive away, more just a nice little local shop that carries quality stuff. I’ve picked up a lot of Founders there (Breakfast Stout, Backwoods Bastard, Blushing Monk) as well as a few items I’d not seen elsewhere (Dogfish Head Squall, for example). I snagged a bomber of Sex Viking there today as well as a six of Hopslam.

All in all, a great little shop for locals.

A- That of a wine store with a 12X12 beer area. There is a cooler for beers ready to drink (Don't know if they allow it in-store or not) a wall shelf, and a two-sided shelf/display in between the wall shelf and the window. There is also a sad and dusty selection of NC brews on the other side of the store.

Q- I never know what to put here, but this place is just average overall I guess.

S- Helpful, but "The beer guy" is only there mondays and tuesdays.

S2- Probably less than a nice chain grocery store, but more focused on higher quality/limited/foreign offerings. For instance, you aren't going to find Meantime beers at Harris Teeter (not that they are world-beaters). I know I've found some stuff in there that I snatched up because it was gone everywhere else.

F- N/A

V- Nothing was out of line.

Located in the KR shopping center right off I-77. Next door to the aptly named Glutton's restaurant.

6 shelf units of beer, around 100 6's and 40 or so single imports and bombers. 2 cooler sections with mix-a-six in one and 20 or so bombers in the other.

For the area, a great selection. Sierra Nevada, Stone, Weyerbacher, RJ Rockers. More micro selction than imports. This is mainly a wine store (as you can tell from the name), but they do have an interest in beer and might grow that interest with a little more traffic.

Closes early (7 on most nights) so keep that in mind.

If you forgot to stock up in Hickory, Winston, or Charlotte before coming to Statesville, then this would be the store to hit.
