Poured from 12-ounce bottle into thistle glass. Beautiful deep bron color with ruby highlights and a long-lasting light tan head. Some similarities to a doppelbock on the nose and palate, with dark fruits, dark bread, and roasted malts predominant. A little bit of alcohol bite, but not much. Finishes clean, with some faint malt sweetness and a little bitterness on the finish. This is by far the easiest-drinking wee heavy I've ever had, smooth and delicious. Well done!

Excellent Scotch Ale. Would rate it a single, not double as advertised here at the new taproom at Whole Foods Santa Clara. Nice 9% ABV.

Poured in to a 12oz tulip glass 07/14/16.

Color: Dark Brown with Ruby red highlights. Poured a thick, tan-beige, fluffy head.

Aroma: Rich toffee, dried fruits, BIG malt. Also a good dose of alcohol as it warms up; almost
a bourbon barrel aroma.

Taste: Same as above: toffee, caramelized, figs, dried cherries. Rich body. Slow burn. Sweet
finish. Pleasant.

Overall: I would put this beer up against some of the Doppelbocks and/or Eisbocks I’ve had.

Deep brown in color with a murky complexion. There's a fingernail of beige resting on top. The aroma is of sweet caramel malt. I taste plenty of sweet, dark, caramel malt. The mouth is warm with alcohol, moderately chewy and sticky.

Pours a dark reddish brown.
Smell is a sweet malt with a mild peat aroma.
Strong malt taste and a mild fruit and earthy profile
Typical scotch ale.

Maltopia wee heavy. 9% ABV. Just purchased, nearly 2 year old bottle

Cloudy copper-brown body topped by a semi-durable foamy head.

Smells sweet, boozy, and a little off.
Likewise for flavor which seems to confirm an assessment of at least. starting to go bad. Rated with a slight tolerance (boost) for age.

Well, not sure why this beer is getting crushed. Decent appearance, nice malty caramel aroma with a sweet malt taste and light to medium mouthfeel. Overall a pretty good Wee Heavy. Very tasty and easy to drink for a beer that is 9% ABV. Underrated!

Laughably undrinkable. Tasted like a homebrew experiment gone wrong. If I didn't get this beer for so cheap, it would be a 1 star. I got a bomber for $1.99. Literally the worst craft beer I've ever had.

On tap at the Surf 'N' Suds Beer Festival held at Carpenteria State Beach in Carpenteria, CA.

Pours a clear dark orange-brown with a foamy tan head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, caramel, and dark fruit aromas. Taste is much the same with toast, caramel, fruit, and earth flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that that is tasty, but the mix of aromas is much better in my opinion.

Serving type: on tap.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a pretty dark amber color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of malts, sugar. Taste is malty, sugar, alcohol, some dark fruits. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a good quality beer.

This is a local favorite right from the brewery in San Jose. Suprisingly malty without being too alcoholic in taste. The right blend of hops and malt. Delicious.

Good beer, started off with the flavors a little muted. The longer I let it rest in the glass the more defined the flavors. The standout taste if the oatmeal and the sweet alcohol taste. I'd dance with it again, but not get to serious.
