See through orange color; huge bright white head with frothy lacing.

Grapefruit blast in the nose; slight caramel undertones.

Medium thick mouthfeel.

Grapefruit and orange flavor mingle comfortably with caramel notes from the malts.

Pretty tasty. This almost tastes like a palatable US barleywine.

Look - Cloudy, muddy yellow-brown ale with a thin, wispy head that vanishes almost instantly.

Smell - some malt, some hops, with an undertone of alcohol. Uninspiring.

Taste - Awful. Malty, medicinal, some heat from alcohol. After the first sip I pushed it to one side to let it warm up, hoping that would mellow it a bit. Didn't help

Feel - The aftertaste is decidedly unpleasant. Like plastic, cocoa, and smoke.

Overall - Undrinkable. Like something a fledgling homebrewer made from a kit before refining his hobby. I ended up pouring it out. Perhaps I got a bad bottle? Regardless, I'm not in any hurry to try it again.

Bottle from Bottle Barn. Malty little bugger. They talk up the hops, but the malts dominate. Hops come in later with a bit of heat. Medium golden with small soft head. Slick, almost sticky.

When you want BevMo warm ipa, this is your stop! Usually on a corner cap end display. Pours a darker and hazier than average almost amber color. 1/2" off white head. Aroma was mostly grapefruit rind pithiness smacking more of bittering hops than aroma hops. Below average.

Taste had lots of caramel going around and more grapefruit bitterness. Ok, so my mind is already saying 90s high ibu heavy crystal malt kind of ipa is what we got going on. Price is decent, like $3 or 4 a bomber, but flavor town has left the building. Its sticky and viscous. Has a malty cardboard like presence. Wood/pine notes and grapefruit all the way on this one, feels like it is in 100 ibu territory.

Dark amber and slightly hazy. One finger head with good amount of lacing. Smells and tastes of burnt caramel, toasted orange rind and sweet dough. Kinda light on the carbonation. Balanced hop bitterness and sweetness, but the bitterness does linger for some time. Was told it's suppose to rival Pliny. No comparison.

really surprised folks havent given this one more credit. there is a lot happening here, and its super tasty. i havent had a lot of beer from these guys, but the few i have had have been impressive, this one included. its a lighter double ipa, still majorly hazy and thick looking, heady and lingering, but it smells and tastes a little more delicate than a lot of these. resinous hops, hard to tell which varietals, but its sticky and fresh as can be. i taste candied orange, raw honey, and a ton of alpha acids. it has a sort of double edge to it. light in feel and grain weight, but sturdy as can be in terms of the hop flavor. the criticism here seems unwarranted to me, like those who hate on it never had it fresh. these guys do cool beer, and their hoppy stuff is when they are at their best in my experience, so its weird it doesnt have better scores here. some bitterness comes on late, but thats only appropriate for the style. i sure wish hermitage beers were available here in colorado, i wold be a curious buyer for sure. this is way way way way way way way under rated here on BA. when fresh its superb, dont listen to the haters. thanks to drlovemd87 for the share here. cheers mate!

Cloudy complex and magical at first, but with an odd taste after it warms up a little and aftertaste of almost cold tea. Loved at first sip, now I'm not sure... Whole foods, Oakland ca April 2016

Solid beer but the after taste had a little too much fruit rind. They filled the growler up to the cap, which was much appreciated. I think I taste mosaic.
