Appearance - The beer was jet black in color with a mocha colored head clinginging to the sides of the glass.
Smell - All around, there was something chalky about this beer. The nose consisted of dry, chalky malts.
Taste - At the same time, the beer demonstrated a syrupy sweet that’s with a dry chalky presence. I almost came across is being a diet stout. The finish was dry and cancelled the sweetness.
Mouthfeel - There was some stickiness to feel. But in fairness, I didn’t really want the taste to stick around.
Overall - If somebody brewed this with the Mr. Beer kit, I might be impressed. However, this just is not an American stout.

Very roasty, almost a burnt coffee dominant flavor and smell.
A - Pours opaque, black body with 1 finger tan head of loose foam. Flattish, thin rings, not much retention.
S - Coal-fire, peat-fire smells of roasted malt, burnt coffee and burnt molasses/ sugars.
T - Smoke, char, roasted malt, burnt molasses and booze. barely some pine bitterness.
M - It was sharp, sweet then drying, smokey, and smooth. Whiskey dry finish.
O - On the smokey, whiskey side.

2014 vintage exhumed from the cellar, this is amazing beer, really textbook example of the style here. as shiny and black as it gets, relatively viscous, with an inch of super dark mocha coffee colored foamy head on it, relaxing back to a quarter inch, really dark. aroma of dark roasted unbrewed coffee beans, burnt barley, dark molasses, slight tang, english ale yeast, heavy alcohol. its perfect. the flavor is just as good, with a really intense roast on this, maybe some specialty dark malts, this seems to go past abyssal into the deepest darkest grain realm, further than almost any other beer goes, but dry and bitter in the finish from the yeast, which seems remarkably efficient here, must have been a long fermentation, or a cool one too, this is crisp in the end, almost baltic porter-esque in the feel. nutty with the roast, dark coffee, permanent marker, a sweet alcoholic burn, and a highly refined and mature richness. this is easily the best beer i have had from these guys, and i have no idea what its like fresh, but with some age on it, it is positively stunning. one of the best pure russian imperial stouts i have had in a long long time!

Pours an opaque dark brown color with khaki colored head. Chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, and more roasted character on the nose; follows onto the palate. Full bodied. Finishes with lots of roast and some chocolate.

18 months cask-aged imperial stout. Casked on Jan 1, 2015. High dark chocolate, moderate coffee and tobacco leaf aromas, with roasted dark grain, dark fruit, and birnt break flavor.

Pitch black color, with a smell of dark roast. Flavor is fairly bland, a get the dark roast but that's it. The feel is thin and the flavor fades fast.

Poured into a snifter from a fresh growler from the brewery, batch was released two weeks ago
A: Pitch black, no light around the edges. Single finger of dark brown head. No alcohol legs.
S: Roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, bready scents in the background
T: Dark chocolate upfront, a bit of a bitter bite, dark roasted coffee and finishes with a little bit of bread
M: Giant mouthfeel, consistency is close to motor oil. Medium carbonation adds to the dark chocolate bit.
O: One of my favorite stouts from this brewery. Big big flavors, and it ages well. Pairs great with dark chocolates or salted chocolates.
