taste was pretty good, color not as red as would've like to seen, smell faint, overall ok, but not great.

Good saison. I was expecting more sour from the cherries but not disappointed with the beer at all

Bought a four pack of 16 ounce cans. As I poured this I initially noticed a lager-like odor, like a PBR. This was gone by the time the can was empty and a faint scent of cherry was what I smelled. The taste was a light saison and the cherry taste was obvious to meet, but not strong. Light summer-beer feel, thirst quenching. Love the can art.

I picked up a can of Rochester Mills Tongue Tied Cherry Saison for $2.29 at The Lager Mill. I've had this beer before, but now that it's in cans I thought I would revisit it, so lets see how it goes. 2016 Vintage. Poured from a tall 16oz can into a teku.

A- The can looks great, it's got a nice design that really goes with the name and it's very eye catching. It poured a nice amber and ruby red color that takes on more of a pink hue when held to the light with a little over half a fingers worth of creamy off white head that died down to a thin ring that eventually faded away and it left some spotty lacing behind. This is a pretty nice looking beer, I have no complaints.

S- The aroma starts off with a lower amount of high sweetness with a cherry aroma being the first to show and it imparts a little bit of natural cherry flavors with a little sweetness and tartness to go with it and it's followed by the malts which impart a wheat, bread, doughy and grainy aromas. Towards the ends there's just a little saison yeast aromas. This beer has a pretty nice aroma, it's got good balance and the saison yeast isn't too overpowering.

T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma and it starts off with a higher amount of medium sweetness with the same malty aspects that I got in the aroma being the first to show up and they are followed by a noticeable saison yeast aspect that shows up a little more than it did in the aroma. Up next comes the cherry which has a little a bit more of maraschino cherry and candied cherry flavor with a little bit of tartness that goes into the finish along with just a little bit of bitterness and it had a candied cherry like aftertaste. This is a pretty nice tasting beer, no aspect is too overpowering.

M- Smooth, crisp, a little prickly, a little refreshing, on the lighter side of being medium bodied with a lower amount of high carbonation. The mouthfeel is good and it works well with this beer.

Overall I thought this was a pretty nice beer and a nice example of the style, it was pretty much just as advertised and even though the saison aspects were a little on the light side at least they weren't too overpowering like it can be a lot of saisons and that let those nice candied cherry aspects shine through like they should. This beer had nice drinkability, I could drink a couple, especially when it's hot out, but that would be my limit. What I like the most about this beer is the balance, no aspect was ever to overpowering. What I like the least about this beer is that the saison yeast didn't show up just a slight bit more, that's the only thing I would change. I would buy this beer again when in the mood for a cherry saison and I would recommend in the mood for the same. All in all I was happy with this beer and it turned out to be better than I remember, it really lives up to it's name. It's one of the better Rochester Mills beers I've had and it's a nice example of the style. Nice job guys, this is a tasty cherry saison.

A - Pours a hazy burnt orange with a large three finger foamy white head. The head recedes into a thin cap leaving heavy soapy lacing.

S - Aroma is green apple, light tart cherries and yeast.

T - The taste is tart cherry, green apple, lemon peel, and yeast with some white pepper in the finish.

M - Light body with medium/high carbonation. Crisp watery mouthfeel with a dry finish.

O - A decent Saison. The cherry adds a nice touch of tartness throughout the flavor. A nice lawnmower beer.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, best before 9/24/2016. Pours slightly hazy orange/amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off whtie head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lightly tart cherry, lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, coriander, pepper, clove, wheat, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, bready malt, and light cherry notes; with solid strength. Taste of lightly tart cherry, lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, coriander, pepper, clove, wheat, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate amount of yeast spiciness and slight fruit tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of cherry, lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, coriander, pepper, clove, wheat, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, bready malt, and light cherry flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from spiciness as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice saison style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, bready malt, and light cherry flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. There wasn’t really all that much cherry flavor going on, but the base saison was well done for the style expectations. A nicely enjoyable offering.
