473 ml can served cold into a chalice. Can 6 of 6 from the Rochester Mills Holiday Pack. Review from notes

Appearance - Like the other stouts, dark brown, nearly black, two plus fingers of light tan head, very good retention and a slowly receding lacing line. Some lacing at the edges.

Smell - Initially not much, but as it warmed, chocolate and blueberries with a doughy, pancakey aroma rushed in. Fairly aromatic and executed the intended aroma quite nicely.

Taste - Tastes like... blueberry pancakes with some bitter chcolalte mixed in. Flavor fades away quickly and the sweetness is pleasant but not overpowering.

Mouthfeel - A little too thin, a robust and complex flavor like blueberry pancakes... I want it coating my mouth to immerse myself in the depths of pancake glory. This doesn't really get there, body is a little thin, carbonation a little flat. Still good, but a little weaker than the other aspects of the beer.

Overall - The only blueberry pancake stout I've had and overall it hits the brief pretty well. The blueberry doughy pancakes taste like there's adjuncts included, but the overall enjoyment is pretty high. A worthy addition to the holiday pack.

Quick and dirty: this beer delivers what it says it will. Blueberry and pancake. Okay, pancake batter, but close enough. Look is good, smell is full of blueberry and vanilla, taste is led by blueberry and then that caky vanilla. The flavors work well with the roasts and cocoa of the base beer. Feel is good, medium bodied and decent carbonation. Finish is quick and sweet.

A: Dark black in color with a light tan head.

S: Right when you open the can ripe blueberries come drifting out. In the glass there is less blueberry notes, and more bready cream aroma.

T: Bready and creamy with a touch of coffee, and roasted grain. I'd like to see a little more blueberry, and more of a biscuit flavor.. instead of a pancake batter flavor. There is perhaps a touch of licorice in the finish.

M: Medium light, with moderate carbonation.

O: A gimmick for sure. Not bad, but not great either.

Drank this one straight from the can. Aroma was sweet, sweet blueberries and maple syrup (which I don't think was mentioned on the can, but a nice surprise), pancake batter, cocoa and roast coffee. Very nice. Flavor follows the aroma, with a slightly medicinal blueberry finish at first that's a little distracting. After a few sips it disappears as the ale warms. Medium to full body with a slick feel. Sweet, doughy, fruity, and maple. Great breakfast stout.

Can not dated poured into snifter. It pours nearly black with dark walnut hues and a finger of khaki-colored head and lacing. When I opened the can, the fragrance of blueberry wafted strongly. There is also a considerable smell of chocolate, lactose, roasted malt, coffee, and caramel. Overall, the smell is almost cloyingly sweet. The taste is much less sweet. In fact, the blueberry is rather tart. I'm not tasting the chocolate or coffee that I smelled. For a stout, it is rather thin with light carbonation, and the 5.25% ABV is barely noticeable. Overall, this is certainly an interesting stout. I can't tell the canning date or how well the stout ages. What strikes me is how much more sweet is the smell than the taste.

Black to dark brown pour with a sliver of head in the snifter.

Nose is of blueberry syrup, chocolate chips, and hints of stinky bleu cheese. Despite the bleu cheese, the most of it is tricking my brain into smelling chocolate chip pancakes with fresh blueberry syrup.

Unfortunately the flavor doesn't translate too well. I'm overwhelmed with tons of metallic malts and blueberry tannins; followed with very faint hints of chocolate chip, and dry cocoa rubbed into my tongue. There's a saccharine sweetness that's a bit cloying as well.

Feel is on the thin side, as it seems with all Rochester Mills stuff. Easily porter territory.

Overall, not impressive. I'm glad I split this rather than drinking the whole thing.
