Got this from the Duvel guy in Utrecht. Cheers!

From a 16oz can into a pint glass
IBU: 20

Ale with milk sugars, cocoa nibs and marshmallow aged in Bourbon barrels

APPEARNCE: Clear brown pour yields a two finger, slightly thinner looking, foamy and crackly, light tan head with okay retention. Bistre brown body with higher levels of carbonation evident. Head recedes to a splotchy wisp and ring leaving some nice lacing on the glass. Ring remains but leaves no real lacing down the glass.

SMELL: Lots of vanilla, milk sugar and marshmallow on the nose. This is very vanilla and candy-like. Bold for sure. Milk chocolate, cookie dough and brownies covered in vanilla cream and coconut. Very sweet-desert like.

TASTE: Follows the nose for sure. Vanilla cream, milk sugars and marshmallows, with lots of milk chocolate and cookie dough up front. Very decadent and piles of adjuncts all over the place. Some more cookies and cream at the swallow, moving into a bold finish of milk chocolate, vanilla cream, lactose, marshmallow sweetness, some brownies and cookie dough, as well as a hint of spirit from the barrel that lingers and lingers. Some kind of vanilla, chocolate covered brownie. Super sweet and decadent.

PALATE: Medium body and carbonation. Creamy on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes a bit mouth-coating. A bit stickier than the earlier variants.

OVERALL: This is delicious. Really enjoyed it. It’s certainly an adjunct bomb and if you don’t like that stuff, they steer clear of this one. However, if that’s something you can appreciate, then this one is done really, really well, and it’s not 12% either. Granted the bourbon barrel is very subtle here, almost so subtle it’s not really a factor, but all the other sweet flavors from the additions make it a fun one to drink while watching Venom. I have no idea what that has to do with anything. Anyways, give it a shot if you enjoy this style. You will be pleased. Cheers!

Pours a deep brown with minimal head and no lacing.

The smell explodes with chocolate along with a little sweetness and a touch of bourbon. This beer smells incredible.

The taste has really strong caramel with a sweet marshmallow and coconut on the finish. Very tasty. No barrel presence noticable.

The mouthfeel is medium/thin with minimal carbonation.

Overall this is a really good beer. Probably my favorite from the 12-pack so far.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, best before 6/28/2019. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-1 finger fairly dense and fluffy light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, toasted marshmallow, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, coconut, oak, nuts, and dark/brown bread; with light notes of bourbon, smoke, char, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa, marshmallows, and moderate barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, toasted marshmallow, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, coconut, oak, nuts, and dark/brown bread; with light notes of bourbon, smoke, char, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Mild herbal/grassy hop, roast/char bitterness, and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, toasted marshmallow, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, coconut, oak, nuts, dark/brown bread, light smoke/char/herbal, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa, marshmallows, and moderate barrel flavors; with a nice roasted bitter/sweet balance, and no cloying/acrid flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky/tannic mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol for 6.5%. overall this is a fantastic flavored milk stout! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa, marshmallows, and moderate barrel flavors; extremely smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. The bourbon isn't huge, but the vanilla/toffee/coconut barrel notes are all there. Perfectly balanced rich malts, cocoa, lactose, and marshmallow flavorings. Tastes like s'mores as a beer perfectly. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected.

Finally a barrel aged from Rochester that isn’t abysmal. But maybe because this one is all sweet marshmallow fluff in the nose and taste. Super sweet, but kinda fun. No barrell for me, which would be a problem for most, but is ok here. Perfectly adequate beer

Second stout from the 2018 pack.

Smells absolutely incredible. Smells just like smores. Taste also matches. I think this would be so much better if it was an imperial because this body is extremely thin. Also, I am not tasting any sort of barrel at all. If it didn't say it was barrel aged on the can, I would have had no idea it was.

Despite that, I think it's pretty solid. Good flavor, but lacks any body

I feel like I could just copy/paste my review from the non-BBA version and it would apply near perfectly. Toasted Marshmallow is highly enjoyable, don't get me wrong, but I had to check the can to make sure it was BBA and not just oak aged because it didn't make much of a difference. Like liquid S'more? Then you'll like this one.
