Had on tap on 7/20/13. Color was a cloudy yellow with little head. Smell was skunky which is not typical for this type. Taste was sour and finished terribly. Overall a lousy beer. Perhaps it was a bad batch but I wouldn't have it again. I make better hef's at home.

Cloudy yellow color, typical to the style. Looks like a liquid banana. The smell to me was very unpleasant and reminded me of sulfur and rotten eggs. Taste was much better but still did not compare too well to some of the better hefes I've had. A lot of citric acid and lemon, but not much else. Light in terms of alcohol and drinkability wasn't bad. At best, a pretty average hefe.

Presentation was an off brown and orange color with a nice cloudiness. Really no head when served. Had the typical aroma of banana and clove, but it also had the extra presence of malt and hops that I usually don't find in this style as much. Medium bodied, strong wheat presence. Nicely carbonated and easy to drink.

On tap

A - Beer arrived at the table with a head that is 1 finger in height and is white in color. Frothy in appearance and dissipates slowly. The beer itself is cloudy and a bright straw in color. Light carbonation is visible in the form of small bubbles rising slowly toward the surface. 3.75/5

S - The aroma features a very strong banana and clove, even stronger than the typical Hefeweizen. Very light malt comes across as white bread and cereal grain. Floral hops act as an undertone to the sweetness. 3.5/5

T - Much like the aroma, the flavor features a very strong banana that is really overpowering. A light note of clove comes out as an undertone with a bit of light pepper and floral hops. A light cereal maltiness and white bread flavor provide another layer of sweetness. Banana just overpowers everything and the banana lingers well after swallowing. 3.5/5

M - Medium bodied and somewhat viscous. Leaves palate wet and coated. Light carbonation tickle that is almost non-existent on the front end. No dryness or lingering dryness. 3.5/5

O - Incredibly overpowering banana leaves little in the way of other flavors to enjoy. While a Hef should have banana and clove, the banana in this beer is just crazy strong. I love banana, but this is a bit much. Sessionable if you enjoy this much banana. 3.5/5

Reviewed on 6/21/2010. On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy yellow-orange with a small white head. Aroma of wheat, spices, but mostly lots of sweet malt. Flavor is dominated by the wheat malt with some sweet fruits and spices. This is more of a wheat ale vs. a hefeweizen but overall was pretty tasty.

Had this on tap at their Oktoberfest event.

A - Cloudy yellow-orange, like a wheat beer should be. Not much head, but as with their Oktoberfest they were pouring a lot ahead of time to accommodate the crowd.

S - Wheat, citrus, clove and banana, malt.

T - Fruity, spicy. You can pretty directly taste the clove and banana.

M - Bit of a sour finish, but overall smooth with medium heaviness.

O - Only had this one twice in two years, and I'd have it again. Fresh and pretty easy-drinking.
