Got this on tap last night when my girlfriend and I went to dinner with some friends from Maryland.

Pours a cloudy golden yellow and about a quarter inch of head. Head took off rather quickly and I didn't notice any lacing whatsoever.

Smell was of citrus, pepper and hops...definitely hops!

The first thing that struck me was the rush of extreme hops and pepper as I drank this beer. It wasn't really the bitterness that got me but just how peppery this beer tasted. Everything else was insignificant compared to that.

Felt like a light bodied beer that didn't have any carbonation bubbles as you drank. Aftertaste was bitter and peppery.

I thought I would give IPA's another try but was proved that I was not as ready as I thought I was. Seriously...only true hop head need apply!

Such an outstanding classic American IPA. Big and juicy and balanced bitterness and a strong malt backbone. I’m shocked this beer is only 6.3% it feels like a double IPA in richness and flavor. Highly recommend.

Served in a shaker pint at the pub. Golden in color and a bit of haze. One finger of foam. A bit of an English IPA, with more earthy and herbal hops coming through before more aggressive citrus and pine comes through on the finish.

Rochester Mills Cornerstone IPA.

Been a few days since my last round of reviews so I figured it was time for some new ones. Luckily there were just enough new single bottles at my local shop for a fresh mix a six of some rather interesting sounding beers. Believe I've only had one beer outta these guys and it wasn't too impressive but it wasn't bad either. Expectations are moderate for this one. Let's drink it up.

Look - From the sixteen ounce can hard poured into a Maumee Bay pint glass. This brew comes out pretty proper with a nice deep copper Californian sunset fiasco going on. Clarity is only moderate but the carbonation can be easily read and appears to be low. Head amounts to a finger and a half of thick, pillowy froth that starts leaving immediate craters and mountain ranges amongst the top of the swill. Remaining lacing and stick is moderate.

Smell - Mildly spicy hop profile which dominates the majority of the scent. Some obvious lemon as the beer warms up a bit. Bits of a soap like quality which can be expected in some IPA beers. NOT a huge nose but pleasant enough to intrigue you into a sip. Almost a faint amount of pepper as well.

Taste - It follows the nose to completion. The hops do turn up their spiciness but it isn't hot in a capsaicin kind of way. Bits and pieces of lemon rind and a touch soapy. Mild showing of the alcohol as well which is surprising given the fact it's only 7%. No discernable fruity flavors aside from the lemon. Touches of black pepper as the beer warms up.

Feel - The body is fuller than I had anticipated. Sits a very sticky moderate with an exceptionally low level of carbonation. Flavors remain much the same as it lingers around the mouth. Swallows a touch bitter with a small amount of heat from the alcohol. Syrupy almost.

Overall - While this wasn't a mind blower I do think it is worth checking out at least once. The flavors are pretty unique albeit not very large. Perfect amount of alcohol for an IPA in my opinion. Wouldn't have a problem throwing back six of these.
