11.2 oz fat squat brown bottle of "Belgian Ale brewed with ginger" served at about 56F in a St. Bernardus snifter. Coding on cap indicates a best by date of June 2013.

A: Pours a hazy amber with a thin but very durable off-white head that leaves some sticky lacing. Most sediment in the bottle added in the pour.

Aroma: a pronounced, but not intimidating, note of ginger with a surprisingly obvious hits of lemon and spicy hops. Hints of yeasty baked bread from the subtle malts and not-so-subtle yeast.

T: Started with ginger and spicy yeast, the flavor profile transforms across time, with flavors of lemon and lime joining in momentarily before the surprisingly delicate finish.

M: Medium-full body; medium, very soft carbonation. A very light tingle from the higher ABV and ginger.

O: Allowing that Brouwerij De Graal intended to make ginger a prominent component of this beer, the level of spicing is excellent. Ginger is one of the main features of both the aroma and the flavor, yet many other components come through without being masked by the ginger. Certainly one of the best ginger beers I've tried.

this beer poured out a straw yellow color with a slightly cloudy body and a nice white head

the smell is strong of ginger and wheat malt but also has a strange cheesy funk in there

the flavor is very nice, wheat, straw like flavors along with an oaty taste and a peppery yeast spice

the finish is a nice med sweet body with a spicy aftertaste. a decent beer, worth a drink but not so outstanding i'd go out hunting for another right away

Poured into a tulip glass, lots of head, and plenty of lacing. Golden straw color with good carbonation.

Ginger is the primary smell, minimal hop smell.

I'm not a big fan of ginger, so glad to find that the taste didn't directly reflect the smell. Actually the hops step up a little bit for a very nice mix.

Feel is good in the mouth, maybe a little light.

Wow, quite a unique beer. Light, golden color, beer pours a 2 finger head which dissolves quickly. Nice carbonation feeding to the top of the beer like a tornado from the bottom of the Piraat tulip glass to the top of the beer. Solid lacing on the glass as well. Awesome nose to this beer because it's so unique. . . you get the ginger but you also get the sense of jalapenos. Never smelled anything like this in a beer. A very smooth beer. The ginger is apparent but it doesn't overpower the beer. The hops come through and balance things out in a sublime way. The finish is really an encore to the entire drink. The carbonation and flavors dance around your palate and makes their presence known. When I began drinking beer a long time ago, I used to dream about a beer that taste like ginger ale. This is about as close as you'll get. Bravo!

750ml bottle. This is REAL ginger ale. Best before 05/09.

Pours a very intriguing gold with a nice big white head that leaves some nice lacing as it quickly dissipates, it is clear with yeast floaties.

The smell is mainly of ginger root. It also has the typical yeast twang form a belgian pale ale. It is reminiscent of gruit and sahti with no sign of hops.

The ginger isn't as integral in the flavor. It tastes like a sweeter than normal Belgian blonde. It is sweet, almost cloying. Not as complex as I would have liked in the taste department. It is better than come other gruit ales but the exclusion of hops always seems you left there wanting more.

The mouthfeel, though a bit cloying, is decent enough. It has decent drinkability.

Overall it is a good spiced beer but like most it ends up being to sweet and un-complex.

A - Pours a goldenrod color, with brilliant yellow highlights, only slightly opaque, with a foamy ecru head and tons of lacing.

S - Really fragrant. Ginger, mildly piny hops, some candied sugar.

T - Has a nice bite, not to strong, of hops and ginger. There are a number of other flavors in the mix, light cloves, some citrus fruit, pear, candy.

M - Has some presence to it. Chewy, sort of leaves a film, sticky but not syrupy.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a yellow color and a cloudy consistency. There was an inch of creamy had that lasted an average amount of time. Average lacing.

S: Lots and lots of ginger in the smell, along with some spices as well.

T: Tasted of ginger (a lot of ginger), but also a little malt, some yeast, and spices (mustard). Almost tasted like a combination of ginger ale and Belgian beer. A tangy, vibrant, and surprisingly complex flavor.

M: A pretty good amount of carbonation with a somewhat slick finish. Light-bodied.

O: This is one of the better herbed/spiced beers I've tried. Very drinkable and easy to like.

BBE 03-07. Nice pale golden and quiet clear beer with snowwhite head thats lasting well. Nose is very green and gives lots of ginger and green hops awell as some koreander and bit of fresh pale maltyness. Taste is lots of ginger wel backed by malts, good bitterness and high alcoholcontent. Strong but full and well balanced mouthfeel also together with fine and fitting carbonation. Yes certainly one to look for as it is something else and a plesure to drink en just enjoy.

I tried this beer at the Brewery this Easter. 6 months ago but a highly memorable beer. Gember is a Ginger Ale, a reallly unusual beer style for Belgium. At 8% ABV, it is strong but drinks well and the Ale is only lightly spiced which leads to a smooth beer. An orangey-copper colour, high carbonation in the bottle, the beer pours with a huge lacy head and does takes a little while to settle. Massive nose, malt and ginger are dominant, but not pervasive. Beautifully balanced beer that is very fruity and seriously moorish. Best of the two beers (other was Blond) we tried by far. My 24 bottle case stock depleted some time ago - damn.

Damn Fucking Computer! As I go to submit my review It fucking asks me to log in to the site, after I've already logged in then erases everything I've just written. Damn!

Eye: Starts with a nice soapy sudsy looking head but it quickly falls to just a thin blanket of foam over the top of the beer. The beer is cloudy lemon yellow in color. Some lacing. Active looking carbonation.

Nose: Belgian upfront. Yeast phenolics are here telling me this is a spiced Tripel. Orange and coriander are in there as well as the ginger.

Tongue: Again, same as the nose. Belgian Yeast phenolics upfront. It tastes like a tripel with spice. Orange, coriander and ginger all play out together and are well balanced with the flavor of the actual beer. Unlike Ginger Beard or Crabbies this one doesn't taste like ginger ale or ginger beer-Gosling's. As far as the ginger goes it is more of a fresh ginger taste that isn't cloying, think eating a fresh slice of ginger with sushi. This beer has high carbonation and that is appropriate for what this beer is. It works well. Body is light and finish is dry, helped so by the ginger which comes back into the flavor profile once the beer is swallowed and adds to the lasting flavor of the beer.

Drinkability: This is one that I would drink again, I'm just not sure how soon. If it were packaged differently here perhaps a 750 or 4 pack I could see myself coming back to it regularly; just like I have standards I always go back to-Tripel Karmeliet, Duvel, Kasteel Rouge and Donker, Petrus Aged Red, etc. If this beer weren't $5 for a single bottle I could see myself drinking it more often. This is one that is good to try. Unlike Ginger Beard and Crabbies it isn't syrupy or sweet. This beer is beer with ginger in it, its not trying to taste like sweet ginger ale like the two aforementioned.
