On the nose i thought this was a sour. Sugary and sweet.

The taste is completely different. This one has a sugar cane sweetness that reminds me of a soda - somewhere between a Dr Pepper and a root beer. Or cream soda. Maybe a little coca cola in there too. And the sugar sweetness sticks to your throat. Definitely the influence of the rum. I am quite particular to this one.

Sweet, rum is present. Wheat, grass, some earthy notes, a little bit of citrus. Nice balance with some alcohol heat.

Thanks to jmgrub for sharing this one at the Revenge Of Instant Replay bottleshare held at Instant Replay in Canoga Park, CA.

Pours a murky honey orange with a foamy tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, floral, citrus zest, wood, and rum aromas. Taste is much the same with malt, grain, brown sugar, rum, wood, and alcohol flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of wood bitterness and an alcohol kick on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and sticky mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty but pretty strong and boozy with the barrel aging.
