A beer for the ladies, crazies and connoisseurs. A floral, hoppy and fruity French-style saison. Saisons are completely undescribable so we won't even try. Our interpretation has five types of grain, Lavery Estate hops and three different strains of yeast! The yeast is the star of this show - fruity, spicy, fragrant, alluring and simply delicious. This beer ends dry and crisp and bottled conditioned with Brettanomyces Clausenii, a wild yeast that adds fruity, tart and mildly funky aromas and flavors to ale. This beer is great young but will change considerably with time.

Named Liopard oir, Irish for 'gold leopard', which appears on the Lavery Family crest.

This beer is super refreshing I really like it. Looks awesome it's like perfectly golden straw colored. The head is a really nice white and was really aggressive at first but gave way shortly to a nice quarter inch ring that hung around for a while. Very aromatic, it gives of alot of scent but not very many different smells. It smells predominantly of spices. The taste takes the cake on this beer, it's spicy and fruity and a little funky. Liopard Oir is just an amazing saison. You need to try it.

Poured from a bomber into a tulip glass.

L: Pours a cloudy golden color with a thick white head that falls quickly. Nice lacing.

S: Citrus and yeast. Mown hay.

T/F: Zesty citrus flavor. Fruity... some complex flavors from the yeast. Lemongrass and a bit of sweetness. Hops in the background only. Significant carbonation. A bit on the fizzy side.

O: A light and easy drinking Saison... great for a hot summer day, and one that the ladies can also enjoy. A happy representation of the style. Would love to try one of the 'barrel aged' variants.

This was a nice vehicle for the Brett, but I didn't get a lot of the big fruity or hoppy notes that were advertised. All of the usual suspects were here... dry finish, mild funkiness, and quizzical nature. Morphed a bit over the time I enjoyed it. Lavery (which is about an hour north) may be seeing a bit of my beer fund this year.
