12oz bottle. Poured out a clear, golden yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of caramel and floral notes. It was sweet with very little hop bitterness.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, malts, fruits. Taste is malts, light fruits, some tartness, a bit different for this style. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is an easy drinking and decent beer.

Twisted Manzanita has recently begun CANning their beers and they are making their way to PA to boot! Yes, they are shrink-wrapped labels, but it's still a step in the right direction. A step towards inclusion on The CANQuest (tm)!

From the CAN: "Crisp [-] Bready [-] Approachable"; "Without Riverwalk Blonde there would be no Twisted Manzanita. Years ago our first homebrewing challenge was to create a beer that would appeal to all of our close friends - from skeptical craft converts to IPA fanaticsin search of substantive flavor. You now hold the fruit of that labor: Riverwalk's mixture of bready Kolsch yeast, delicate fruit esters and crisp finish. Whether a fan or a first-timer, we know you'll pour yourself a second pint."

I got a nice, loud Crack! and I had not CANducted an inverted Glug for a while, so I was inspired to do just that. The eggshell-white head started coming up really quickly and I had to back off as a result. I initially had three fingers of foamy head, but it quickly fell away, allowing me to complete the rest of the pour. Color was a gorgeous Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 -5) with NE-quality clarity and so my Gelt Pals, Midas, Mammon and Croesus stopped in for a taste. Nose had a slight grapiness that caused my nose to wrinkle. Hmm. Mouthfeel was soft, but thin. The taste had a slight grape-y flavor along with a mild biscuit-y maltiness. It wasn't bad, per se, but it was not the best Blonde that I have sampled, either. Finish had a slight tartness that just seemed out of place. I CAN't see opening a second one.

a: a slightly hazy golden amber color with some faint bright yellow notes as the light hits it. large 3 finger rocky, marshmellow-like slightly off white head

s: sweet caramel, juicy strawberries, juicy SWEET pineapple, huge bready/biscuity malt aromas. ends with a slightly sweet syrupy smell. very juicy and mouthwatering aroma

t: flavor mimics the nose pretty spot on here. a mixture of sweet (yet light) caramel and strawberries up front. very juicy. thats followed by some ripe passionfruit and banana. that fades to a green apple skin and lemongrass. flavor is finished off with a dry, biscuty cracker/doughy backbone

m: on the lighter side of medium. theres a lot of carbonation in here which is making the mouthfeel a little lighter. also some astringency on the tongue from the green apple flavor

o: i'll admit, i have become a fan of the American Blonde Ale. this is super juicy - yet not bitter at all (which you might expect with some of the fruity flavors). the beer itself is quite sweet, but there is a watery presence which cuts it a bit and makes it real easy drinking. also a real nice doughy malt quality in here which makes for a real nice backbone. definitely would recommend picking this up. its a great spring beer
