A dubbel with a "California Twist", which is that this beer is brewed without candi sugar.

Enjoyed from the bomber in a snifter. This very nice dubbel
pours a murky reddish brown with a nice head of fluffy off white foam that
lingers long and settles to a thick 1/4 inch layer with nice lacing. Nose of
biscuits, orange zest, light notes of cinnamon and coriander, and rich brown
sugars. Flavors follow but are exceed by sheer volume and heft of the usual
suspects. Rich brown sugars and biscuit malts mingle with yeasty goodness
and come to rest on the middle and back of the taste with orange zest, light
cinnamon, white pepper notes, and a dash of coriander. Very nice mouth feel,
smooth, medium body, nice carbonation, lightly coating, and near perfect for the
style. Also it was a BARGAIN for 7.99 a bottle. The is of note a herbal note that seems
to be from the orange zest which almost makes it have a triple sec effect leaving a light warming
on the back. Very nice.
If this was put in front of me and I was told it was from Belgium I would never know
without seeing the bottle. Very nice.
Cheers

Poured from a 22oz bomber into tulip glass. There was something off putting with the smell and taste of this beer. I will not be going back to this beer
