32oz counter pressure filled growler from Barrel and Barley (Woodstock, GA). 10.00. Served in a Wild Heaven snifter.
Pours an opaque pale orange-hued mahogany with a two finger ecrue head. The froth settles to a fairly thin halo and a haze across the surface. Lace is spotty and spaced widley but present.
Aromas of toffee, pitted fruit, caramel, bready malt, vague earth and mild citrus rind.
Sugars and fruits abound in the taste. Caramel malts, cranberry, cereal grains, cherry skins, toffee, dried lemon peel, brown sugar and a healthy but balanced kick of booze. More of the sweetness that's typical for the style comes out as it warms. The fruit notes verge on seeming too bitter at times but blend well wth the sweetness and alcohol.
Creamy, full body with plenty of carbonation. Dry, semi- bitter fruit skins, citrus zest and caramel finish.
The addition of the dried Prussian lemons, tart cherries and cranberries make this a unique English barleywine. The more times I drink it, the more I'm liking it. I hope Wild Heaven decides to bottle this at some point because I think could evlove quite nicely, particularly if the bitterness settles down.

This is a strong beer that has a pleasant taste. It's a great representative of what Wild Heaven has to offer and has made me a big fan of the barleywine style.

pours a clear, dark ruddy amber with a thin head that disappears rather quickly. nose; caramel, toffee, dark fruit, & mellowed citrus hops. taste; cocoa malt, toffee, fig/raisin, citrus zest, earthy mellowed citrus hops, big peppermint, & estery bananas foster. the lemon & cherry touted on the bottle are both clearly present in the taste, and both are very nicely eased in and balanced. the sweets and fruits blossom after warming a bit. medium+ carbonation lends a velvety mouthfeel, and the ethanol is scarily tame for a 12% abv. big, balanced, & palate-roving.

This is a nice, complex, and amazingly drinkable barleywine from Wild Heaven. Pours a beautiful red-amber with a thin white head. The fruit and sweetness are reminiscent of what I'd find in a quad, and nicely balanced with fairly strong hops. Lots of dark fruits, brown sugar sweetness, and rounded off with a bitter hop finish. Can definitely taste the cherries, and the lemon seems to brighten up the flavor a bit.
Not my favorite beer of all time but quite good and incredibly drinkable.
