Pours a nice dark bronze color with ruby hues & a 2 finger, fluffy, beige/tan, lasting head, with nice, clumpy, sticky lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, strong coffee, slight vanilla & a hint of cocoa. Taste is fronted by coffee & backed by dark bread, sweet malt & caramel tones & faint chocolate. Mouthfeel is silky, creamy, slightly juicy & oily with a peppery prickle. Only somewhat resembles a brown ale, to my mind it smells & tastes more like an amber ale/sweet stout hybrid. Interesting & nicely complex.

From the bottle, it pours into a tulip glass a reddish amber with a moderate, fluffy, head. Somewhat bready scent with some chocolate. Taste is somewhat bready with yeast and hop bitterness. Enjoyable.

12 oz bottle from GA with a June 2015 bottling date.

Pours orange-brown with a tan head of moderate size and durability. A layer of sediment was bonded to the bottom of the bottle. The head leaves a good bit of lace.

Smells like dark bread with notes of hops, roasted nuts, allspice and yeast.

Flavor: medium and dark toasted malts with light hops and some Belgian(?) yeast. Lightly smoky with hints of mild coffee, oak, toffee, booze and dark fruits. Mild bitterness. The aftertaste is quite nutty and a bit odd.

Feel: medium body with moderate carbonation.

Pours a dark amber brown, with red hues and a small tan clinging head.
Aroma: Sweet caramel, coffee with some bakers chocolate.
Taste: Roasty and sweet malts, lots of burnt coffee, but no detection of hops.
Has a drying finish.
For me this was too sweet, and lacked any noticeable hop balance.
Too bad, Brown's are normally my favorites, but not this one.

My brother brought me a bottle of this when he came home to Cleveland to visit from Atlanta a few weeks ago. Thanks Mark, you rule! Poured into one of my pint glasses, this beer pours a clear dark amber/light brown color with a fluffy, creamy looking slightly tan colored head that is about an inch thick when first poured that settles to a good 2/3 to 3/4 of an inch thick with good retention. It eventually settles to 1/5 inch thick head with decent lacing. Has a nice oak and roasted caramel malt aroma. Has a good, slightly roasted caramel sweetness upfront that gives way to oak and hints of chocolate that is nicely rounded out with some hop bitterness. A simple and straight forward and tasty flavor profile indeed! Has a slightly crisp, but mostly smooth, frothy, cream, lactic/milky, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with light to moderate carbonation. Has a nice clean and smooth finish. Quite drinkable indeed in an excellent manner!
