Pours a clear, golden color. An inch of foam that dies down to a tight layer around the rim. Light aroma, some faint biscuit notes. The taste of the beer is light, crisp, sweet. Almost honey-floral like in its sweetness, with an effervescent lightness balancing it out. Eminently quaffable. I think it’s an excellent kolsh and a solid addition to the Ranger Creek line-up.

On tap at the Flying Saucer in Fort Worth.

The beer pours a clear golden color with a white head. The aroma is about what I expected, with some wheat and grain notes and a little bit of grass from the hops. The flavor follows suit. There are some pepper and grape-like notes that accompany the grain, wheat and grass notes. Nothing too exciting, but it is easy to drink and refreshing. Medium mouthfeel and low carbonation.

straw colored, not much head.

very neutral smell

taste is heavy on hops for a kolsh, not outragously so. IPA drinkers will appreciate he taste though.

mouthfeel was light. finished clean.

overall, it's a good beer, but it lacks the kolsh sweetness and aftertaste. It's really more of hoppy blond ale.

On tap at the Anvil in Houston, TX

A: Pours a slightly hazy golden/yellow color. There is a light haze and a one finger white head forms. Light lace is left behind. I wish this had a bit more clarity.
S: There is a quick snap of hops. Citrus, grassy aromas. That fades in a second to a bread/biscuit aroma. Light toasted grains. Very nice.
T: Again, a quick snap of hops. Light citrus and grassy flavors. Bread and biscuit and light grains. I love the toasted grains. This is really simple and enjoyable.
M/D: A light to medium body. Crisp and refreshing. This is so smooth at the same time. Very easy to drink. All day with this one.

This is excellent and really well done. Good job Ranger Creek. This is not a very popular style here, but a great representation. A great local Texas beer and highly recommended.

I tried this on tap at Austin Flying Saucer.

The appearance looked good for a kolsch. It was straw-yellow colored, and it was not murky or anything that would raise a red flag. There was not as much head or lacing that I could evaluate.

The taste was a bit hoppy, but it's just right. It's not hoppy as an IPA would be, but it's just enough to catch your attention. This beer had a dry aftertaste.

I am keeping this review short. Overall, I think it's a decent beer for a hot summer day. I think this is one of their better beers that I have tried so far. I'd take this kolsch beer over their hefe any day of the week!

I had assumed this beer will be a year-round release, but I can't be certain. Their website has not added any of their new beers, so maybe it's a rotating brew?

Poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: Light yellow with a fluffy white head about a finger thick that leaves a thin lacing over the top of the beer.

Aroma: Slightly fruity, peaches come to mind with a hint of citrus.

Taste: Clean with a slight citrus, piney taste, not much depth of complexity (which is pretty much to style).

Mouthfeel: Clean and refreshing, light body with medium-high carbonation and a dry finish.

Overall: I don't really like this style of beer and probably wouldn't have tried it if I had known.
