Another nice offering at the Whip In in Austin, Texas this stuff is a cloudy dark amber color with a nice creamy white head and great lacing. I smell sweet grapefruit, almost thick pollen-like floral notes and piny bread. Very nice. The taste brings citrus and banana-rye bread. Not much more to say in my estimation, not real complex but a little different and I like it! It’s medium bodied with very fine carbonation and a somewhat glassy aqueous feel. The hops finish high and tight but a kind of cloying sweetness dominates. Rye is evident and sort of different as rye efforts go. Not sure I would want to drink lots of these but a good brew I would certainly like to have again.

This pours a hazy straw-tan color. There is a low, muted aroma to what is basically Ranger Creek’s flagship Oatmeal Pale Ale brew rested on wood. Some oak hints comes across the palate.
Barrel-aging gave this beer nuance, depth and a light complexity.
