Good "old school" piney, citrusy West Coast IPA. Had it on tap at the bar in the Fosshotel. Reykjavik Iceland. Served in a tulip, this beer was a good example of what IPAs used to be. Apricot color, resiny, bitter with plenty of pine and grapefruit flavor. Mouthfeel was crisp and bitter. Very enjoyable!!

Excellent head and head retention. Orange color with slight haze. Moderate dank aroma a bit one dimensional. Excellent flavor, mostly pine/resinous hops with a bit of citrus. Some breadiness, very old school IPA with firm bitterness.

On tap. White head. Clear golden color.
Pine and floral hops. Bitter. A bit of citrus. Some bready malts. More bitterness in the finish. Solid ipa, but very hoppy.

Ul Fur Nr. 3 from Borg Brugghus. Approximately $10/11.2 oz bottle at the restaurant at Magma Hotel. Served at whatever temp the reefer is in a small glass provided in the room. Reviewed 21/7/21. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Stamped on neck “BF 290421 PD 290621” so a month passed date. Still, the most promising beer available.
Appearance – 4. Moderately wide band of tiny to small bubbles with a few short stalactites.
First pour – Pale Straw (SRM 2), clear.
Body – Straw (SRM 3), hazy. When rear-lite, same.
Head – Average (Maximum 2 cm, aggressive center pour), white, medium density, short retention, diminishing to a 0.5 – 1.2 cm jagged crown of tiny bubbles and a thin complete cap.
Lacing – Good.
Aroma – 4 – Begins with grapefruit and a bit of pine, no malt, no yeast.
Flavor – 4 – Begins slightly sweet and a touch malty but the sweetness is soon suppressed by the grapefruit. Slightly perfumy. No yeast. No ethanol (5.9% ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma. Weak gastric burning does occur following the first swallow. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 4 – Medium, almost creamy, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 4 Not too shabby although the perfume flavor is definitely detrimental to the taste. Otherwise, a decent IPA.

Excellent IPA. Drank from a bottle in Heimaey. Poured into a branded snifter.

Had a druaght on a brief layover in Keflavik. Nice thicky, chunky head leaving clingy lace. Combined with the branded snifter it was served in, it looks Belgian. Dark gold. Candied orange nose taste citrus up front before a dry mid-pallate and biscuit finish. Medium-light bodied. Not bad at all!

Very citrusy but leaves a bland after taste. On the whole not a bad beer but wouldn't be my first choice.
