The Beer Store is not just any beer store; it is an honest to God bottle shop, which is hard to do in Pennsylvania. Beer selection has picked up since beer can be sold in grocery stores, but this place blew me away with the selection they have. Literally anything a beer geek would want you can find there. They also have the biggest growler selection I have ever seen in the area. Definitely worth checking out if you live in the Bucks/Mont area.

Nice place, a lot crammed into a somewhat small shop, but floor to ceiling selection, Mostly Eastern and regional brews and some European, lots of Belgian. Overall, a must -go if you’re in the area.

Great bottle selection, well organized, with new brews all the time. Growler filling in the back. Friendly, knowledgable staff. Fair enough prices for PA, and occasional specials that are amazing values. Only criticism is that the two aisles are so narrow that it makes it hard to browse during peak times -- you're always in somebody's way or vice versa. Still, this is an awesome shop.

Best beer retailer I've ever been to. Darren, the owner, was very friendly and gave me samples of a couple beers that I've never tried. Well worth the hour drive from jersey to get bell's, deschutes, etc.

Had the widest selection I've ever seen. They also have a bunch on tap for growler fills and pints to drink in their bar area. They'll also let you crack open any of their mix-a-six beers in the bar area for $5. Everything I picked up was fresh and there were a bunch of rarer beers sitting on the shelf. Seems that they get most of the widely distributed "whales" that come out once a year so I'll definitely be checking in from time to time.

The aisles are quite narrow, but it's obvious this is due to the sheer amount of beer that is inside the relatively small store.

If you're from jersey you owe it to yourself to take the trip out here to see what they have.

selection's great here. worth the hour or so trip from jersey maybe every few weeks. prices are a little higher than what I'm used to for most things. there's so much beer and a FEW aren't fresh I admit but I don't expect perfection, just appreciate the stuff I can get here that I can't in jersey

This is a pretty nice little shop. It is fairly small, but they manage to cram an impressive selection of beer. The service is quick and friendly. They also have taps for growler fills in the back, which I plan to try sometime. It is one of the few places in the area with single bottles or cans thanks to their clever strategy to get around Pennsylvania's damned container laws. As for prices, this place ain't cheap, but it is perfect for finding that special brew.

I went here with my brother to see what they had to offer. The place is basically a long aisle with shelves in the middle of bottles and six packs with a wall rack with bombers and long cooler with mostly the same items on the shelves and a mix-a-six area in the rear where they have beer on tap. The entrance had a large display and an area with reduced merchandise/seasonal items and gift packs near the register. They have many things which I can't get locally like many Evil Twin bombers and individually priced 12 oz bottles and a wide variety of Belgian beers including trappist items from St Bernardus.

The service was attentive and friendly and I ended up getting three things - an Iron Maiden Trooper Ale, Evil Twin Justin Blaeber and Goose Island Halia which was expensive but hard to find I suppose. I would return if in the area, but it was a little out of the way for me. I like how the Store is organized and they have some things discounted like pumpkin beers to move at the end of the season which makes sense. I will probably return if I have the chance it is a very clean place and the owner was there joking which shows they appreciate the customer, at least to me anyway.

I have to say I've never heard of this place before until recently. I am very impressed. Very nice atmosphere. You are greeted by the seasonals as soon as you walk in along with an impressive belgian/import shelf. Some seating in the back were a couple of patrons were having a pint or two. Very hard to find stuff here and well organized. I believe it was the owner I spoke to really knew his stuff. Very informative and helpful in making sure everyone got what they wanted/needed. Being in the richer area I was afraid of the prices, but there was no upmark. Very reasonable to some of the bottle shops I've seen the past and a defenite gem. Probably a place you can travel out of the way for. Highly Recommended.

I've never had the food here, just bought bottles on a few occasions. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable and is willing to strike up conversation. Selection is huge, and they get everything that's distributed to the Philly area. A whole wall full of room-temp bottles on one side, and a wall length of beer filled coolers on the other side. Growler filling station in the back bar area, too. Can't ask for much more in a bottle shop. Expect to pay a little bit more than other stores, though.

Stopped in here yesterday while I was in the area. I have always heard great things, figured it would be as good a time as any to see what all the talk was about.

Long, thin shop with bottles in every nook and cranny. Atmosphere is pretty good. There are people mulling around the tables drinking beers and looking at the bottles. Service was pretty good. I was asked a few times if I needed help, which I did because they apparently don't put the prices on any of the bottles you may actually want...

Quality and Selection were both quite high. They have a TON of bottles in this place, lots of things I would love to try. I didn't have a lot of time so I did a quick once over and picked up some belgians I haven't seen in awhile.

This is definitely one of the best bottle shops I have been to. Prices are a little high but the selection makes up for it. I will definitely return in the future.

The first time I walked into The Beer Store, I was impressed. The beer selection is top notch for the area. The layout is easy, cooler with 4 and 6 packs and a nice selection of singles. Wall space is crammed floor to ceiling with a great variety of beers. The Beer Store often has limited runs, and hard to finds. They update their FaceBook page to let the public know what just arrived. They have a decent selection on tap, and growler fills are reasonably priced. Staff is knowledageble and friendly, more than willing to sit and talk beer.

My go-to spot. I frequent this place quite often... anywhere from two-three times a week when I am actually home. Store is clean, selection is great, and prices aren't too bad IMO. The only gripe I will ever have with this place is that fact they feel the need to break down 4-6 packs and sell each bottle for roughly $10 a piece (namely KBS, Flying Dog Kujo, Devil Dancer, Hopslam, among others) but hell, it does give more customers the chance to try these wonderful beers.

Will is always helpful and knowledgeable, and Darren is a good guy to talk to as well, though he is not in the store nearly as much as he used to be.

I don't understand the claims of this place being a little on the expensive side. Everything is priced well, IMO, and the things that aren't are gonna be on the expensive side anywhere you go (Sours, Lambics, most things Russian River, Firestone Walker, and North Coast). Growler fills are even wonderfully priced unless you're getting a top-notch beer that runs on the expensive side to begin with.

The Beer Store is also your place to go to for limited runs. They will always get that hard to find beer. Supplies will be limited, but they will have it.

Been here a few times now. Time to review.

A - A really nice, well lit place. Neatly organized.

Q - There is virtually no bad beer to be found. Everything they carry is of a high caliber.

S - Always friendly and knowledgeable about the beers they have. If it isn't busy, they'll have a nice chat about beer.

S - Really can't beat the selection they have. Insane amount of beers for a place that is so small. Always have nice taps, too.

F - Tried some of the wings and they weren't bad. Not great, but not too shabby.

V - This is the only place I can really ding them. The prices at this place can get a little insane. Recently I've seen a 4 Calling Birds for ~$20 or $22, whereas I bought one at another local place for $12. It's in a more upscale area, so I suppose the rent on the place might be higher than usual.

Overall, a great place to buy some beer. Definitely check it out if you're in the area.

This place is all about beer. Basically all wall space, including some displays on the floor is shelves floor to ceiling of beer bottles. Theres also a cooler to the right side wall that runs the length about 2/3's the length of the store. The selection is top drawer. Everything from coast to coast in the USA, Belgium, Germany, Italy, even beers from Lithuania. What I really liked too is in the back of the store theres a small bar, with several tables set up, with about 20 different taps. You can sit there and have drinks and even order food, mostly of the fried variety but this place isn't a resturant. I'd say this actually teeters between reasonable and pricey, but a lot of the beers in here I've seen a few dollars cheaper elsewhere. Still, I've yet to see the big selection from Avery, Port, and their Pilsner selection anywhere else. A must stop if you're in the area.

Wow. This is the place for beer in 215. The selection is great, the layout easy, and the staff helpful.

They have a number of beers on tap for filling growlers, which seem to rotate frequently. There are single bottles down the left side of the store (floor to ceiling) and a frig on the right, which is the length of the store.

The store is clean and bright. It's in an easy to find a shopping center with abundant parking. The prices are reasonable, but craft beer will put a dent in your pocket!

It will now be a regular stop for me when I'm in Philly.

A: Thee biggest and best beer store I've been to since Oak Tree. Shelves one side of the store, and a cooler lines the other side. A dozen or so taps in the rear, with some pretty tastey brews.

Q: Clean, neat and very orginized. Very clean, neat and organized! Very easy to walk the store and see every beer available. Tons of (free) parking.

S: Will def new his stuff! From the beer he was selling, to the names, breweries, vintage years and flavors of them. He listened to my favorite style(s), favorite flavors and breweries, and suggested a few new brews for me to enjoy.

S: If it's available in PA, they have it!

V: Typical PA prices, compared to prices in NJ.

This is the PA Oak Tree. The only question is: How long before they are recognized in some national article/rating? Yeah that good.

Just an update on this store they just installed 24 taps as of today they have 12 flowing this will be awesome. i am concerned about the seating capacity but rumor has that they are going to expand the bar further to the back or the store. they are also very cheap/reasonable with their growler fill prices imo.

i frequent this store about three to four times a month and it is awesome. great selection and they always are helpful in any advice in beer you might be looking for. i do wish it were closer for me as it is approximately a half hour drive. But it is well worth the drive for the great selection.

This place is a masterpiece of beerdom. It is totally unassuming, and I jealously hope it stays that way so that it doesn't get too crowded... but at the same time, this is an excellent establishment and deserves your patronage!

Prices are reasonable, and the back tap/bar area is nothing special for the aura (thus the 4.5 on atmosphere), but these are the ONLY cons.

Service has helped increase my beer/brewery knowledge, has offered excellent suggestions and kept me up to date on what they've just gotten in. They always get supplies of limited releases, and they make sure the customers know to come get it!

The selection? They've got it. If for some crazy reason they don't have it, they'll get it. Probably the next day.

My only real problem with this place is that I'm going to spend all of my money there... like, all of it.

Went on a short road trip to visit this place today, and what a find. I wish this place was in my neck of the woods. I could have talked to Will for forever. Huge bottle shop with library type shelving down one length, and the largest series of fridges you've ever seen down the other side. It was like being in the refrigerated aisle of a grocery store, except better, because it was all beer. At the end of the store opposite the entrance, they even have seating, beer on tap, and the ability to make and serve food. Unbelievable. He even told me they plan to expand their number of taps to some crazy number like 20 (or more). I had Sculpin, Cerise, and a couple others while I was there. This place is awesome. Instead of a craft brew house with a beer shop, it was a beer shop with a craft brew house. I definitely plan on going back in the future.

I've been going to this place for about six months now. It's about 30 minutes from where I live but somewhat on the way home from work, so I stop when I can. The selection is what you will first notice, I honestly do not know of a better place near me nor would I expect one. The first time you come here you'll notice that the service is very personable, the guys that work there don't feel like employees or owners of the establishment, they feel like guys who you'd meet at a bar. Now I come to this place now about once a month, originally I came more often. Everytime I come they can point me towards something that I should try. Some of them specifically know what I would like just from what else I've bought. I'd say I've enjoyed 95% of the things they've recommended. Whether this place is busy or dead, the guys are always either talking to customers or working around the shop. If you like beer no matter the level you'd consider yourself check this place out, I'm sure you'll find something to walk out of this place with. If you ask these guys about almost anything they'll point you in the right direction, they'll be honest and sincere about it too. With build your own six packs, cold and shelf beer, 6 packs, big bottles, single bottles, growlers, pints and food what more could you need other than a case? I'm sure if they could they would.

The Beer Store is brightly lit and impecibly clean. The quality of the beer on the shelves doesn't disappoint either. Darren and Will do their best to get everything and anything they can to keep their customers happy. They are always there if you have a question or just want to talk beer. Very knowledgable and understanding of the different styles and breweries out there today. I haven't yet tried the food from the back of the store, but they even have beers on tap at this place! And they're no slouch beers either - recently they had LA Serpent Stout, Troegs Scratch 33, and Nugget Nectar on tap! In a store! A++.
