Two 12 oz cans BB 6/10/15 at 40 degrees into 1 L glass mug
Aroma of pine and generic fruit
Head large (6 cm, aggressive pour), light brown, frothy, slowly diminishing to broken froth layer between 2 mm and 8 mm thich
Lacing OK – large islands of bubbles varying from tiny to karge in size
Body red-amber, clear
Flavor begins with some rye spiciness and some hop bitterness. The rye fades but the hops remain. No alcohol, no diacetyl.
Palate light to medium, watery, lively carbonation

Really like the head retention for this two fingers of beige goodness. The unique ruby orange color is another plus. Nose is hop oil pine and grapefruit.

Taste is a little more balanced than the nose, with pine and citrus offset by caramel malt and tones that scent of biscuit and rye. Generally tight in the texture and by no means a traditional hop bomb, this drinkability could get you in trouble.

Picked this up in Totowa last week, having never had this before. Most of their beers were quite good but something was amiss with this one. Even though it was fresh and good until July of this year, It felt a bit too weak and watery without being notable when it came to the taste or mouthfeel.

This had a dark pour to this - much more so than I would has expected, as the ruddy reddish-brown hue was not quite clear. Not a thick head to this and the carbonation was more present in the taste than to the eye. Some tropical fruits in the nose with a lot of rye and caramel malt behind it in the taste. Both of those didn't linger long as the mouthfeel felt quite watered-down and the hops only came out a bit in the aftertaste. Was this skunked? Probably not but it almost tasted that way and the IPA just seemed to be missing from all of this once I finished it and let it sink in.

There's a slight alcohol presence here but nothing that blew me away in terms of taste or strength. While not a bad beer, this was underwhelming and with so many IPA's out there, the only distinctive aspect to this beer was the rye. While not grainy, there could have been more "bite" to this and had there been, I would have enjoyed it much more so. It's fine to try once but certainly not the best of what Terrapin currently brews.
