Found this in the back of the fridge. From the bottle, it pours a robust brown with a modest head that reduces to a ring and islands. Nutty, malty, smell in the nose. In the mouth, you get a sweetish tiramisu like flavor. Odd, but yummy.

Big thanks to SammyJaxxx for this one. Don't remember enough of the specifics for a thoughtful review. But, I sure doing remember being impressed by the flavor even more than a very inviting aroma.

bottle kicked my way from my man rowmark, thanks bud! enjoyed from a terrapin 22oz snifter. 2015 vintage.

what can you say about this? lots of artificial flavors that definitely capture a tiramisu vibe over a milk stout. very southern tier. unique and they pull it off. tasty but taking down this 22oz might be a chore. I think I can I think I can...I know I can

Jet black pour, dark brown in light with a tight khaki colored bubbled head. Nice mix of big suds as it settles to a ring, moderate retention.

Nose is sweet lactose, milk chocolate, icing, maple syrup and almonds. Very inviting dessert-like coffee house smell.

Taste is plenty of that syrupy lactose sweetness you get in the nose. Some pancake batter like, maple syrup and milk chocolate sweetness involved as well. Espresso and bakers chocolate bitter aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is that of a typical thin Porter. Low carbonation, sweetness lingers

Poured on draught into a snifter glass. Appearance is very dark with minimal head. Taste is just as advertised with a good sweet/milk stout base. A lot of chocolate, coffee and vanilla are present making this an excellent dessert beer. Extremely smooth Mouthfeel, and there is not a ton of alcohol presence. The sweetness is fairly high, but this is an excellent beer overall.

The nose was fantastic. The entire room smelled like this beer after the wax and cap were popped.

Everything else on this beer was just average.

The taste is overly sweet in an artificial sugar/syrup kind of way. The feel is thin.

Terrapin in onto something but this beer release may have been premature.

Pitch black squid ink color that's completely opaque with no trace of lighter color. Two finger dark mocha head with very good retention, only slowly settling into a lasting ring. Streaks of soapy lacing left behind.

Intense yet inviting aroma with a very pleasant robust coffee presence that's nicely integrated into the complex malt bill. Terrapin has again nailed the aroma with gourmet espresso, lady finger, light spice, custard, egg whites and silky dessert sweetness. Decadent Italian coffee/dessert notes dominating the nose with pastry/custard and heavy coffee character. Gourmet roast with slight nuttiness and faint lactose. Seasonal spice with brown sugar and cinnamon and lighter malt notes. Very complex with nice balance.

Terrapin had once again created a beer version of a dessert/culinary classic. Nearly perfect balance of spice, dark roast, gourmet coffee, custard/dessert-like curd/sweetness and lighter chocolate malt. Impressive take on espresso soaked ladyfingers, really nailing that flavor. Sugary cake flavor with spicy cinnamon, chocolate malt, lactose, coffee bean, roasted nuttiness, caramel and toffee sweetness. ABV is well masked making this beer surprisingly easy to drink. Another solid entry in this series from terrapin.

Appearance - The beer poured black with a light mocha colored head.

Smell - The nose is sweet with notes of coffee and cookies.

Taste - Up front, I detect syrupy sweet coffee with cookie flavored malts. There are notes of chocolate and perhaps a hint of coconut. The sweetness of the coffee makes me think of real expresso. The bitterness grows stronger in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Smooth and sticky. I would like a little more thickness.

Overall - This is my second bottle, and I think this one is bolder.

L: Typical of a milk/sweet stout, black brown with a caffe latte head.

S: Okay, this surprised me. There is so much maple here. I don't think there's even maple in this beer, but that's what I'm getting. Very dessert like and enticing.

T: Well, it could never be as good haha. Sweet lactose, some coffee roast, bit of that maple character but not like the nose. Very good though still.

F: Fine for a milk stout.

O: Another good Terrapin Reserve or whatever the series is called bottle. The nose is incredible, rest of the beer is very good.

The smell is the best part of this beer followed by the taste. If it wasn't for the fact I'm not a big fan of milk stouts and it's almost too watery for me.

I would say to try this beer only once and share it with friends as 1/2 glass is enough for me. Very solid attempt at a unique beer style and flavor.

2015 vintage

L - Pours like a nice milk stout. Jet black body with a one finger dark tan head.

S - Nailed the tiramisu from the smell! Coffee, caramel, almonds, milk chocolate and sweet icing.

T - Fresh coffee, creamer, vanilla and milk chocolate. Like a well made fancy coffee with all the fixings.

F - Medium bodied and low carbonation. It has a wet finish and the beer finish goes on for days.

O - Very well made and accomplishes what it set out to do. This beer is tiramisu through and through.

Thanks Kiby for the share. Bomber poured into a snifter, the bree appears black in color with a thin ring of khaki head.

This smells sweet with coffee, chocolate and something nutty - possibly almonds? The taste is sweet almost like cola which is awkward at first and then roasty chocolate and coffee are present before finishing with almost an artifiical sweetner aftertaste like splenda.

This is medium to lighter in body with a modest amount of carbonation. The lactose in this was a bit much (at least thats what I think was the weird splenda-like sweetener in this.) Interesting mix of flavor but I dont think I enjoyed it anymore than the base beer.

Poured from a wax top into a snifter, the beer is jet black and oily thick, with a thin layer of light tan head. Aromas of rich milk chocolate, rich coffee, cinnamon, sweet cream, sugar sweetness, and a cookie backbone. This smells amazing. Flavors are very heavily roasted forward, rich in bitter coffee and tangy sweet cream, bittersweet cocoa nibs, and sugary cookies. Subtle spice highlights of cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar. Very roasted and bitter. The body is smooth, heavy, and layered. The aftertaste is more of the coffee ladened, sugary sweet, chocolaty desert blend, lingering on past the smooth, velvety, creamy finish. Great beer.

Pours a deep black, not much head but there is a persistent thin lacing. Aroma is fantastic, the coffee / espresso is very delicate and there are definite undertones of vanilla & cream. It even somehow manages to get the ladyfingers smell too. They really nailed the aroma on this one. The tast profile is also very delicate, features mostly the roasted espresso / coffee flavor along toasted nut, wafer and dark malt. Vanilla is more for aroma / texture but the flavor is there distant in the background. Very smooth and velvety mouthfeel. Great desert beer in the sense it highlights sweet flavors but is not in any way artifical or cloying. Hits all of the notes it sets out to with balance and elegance.

A: Black, opaque, thin khaki head, nice lacing down the glass

S: Coffee, chocolate, sweet chocolate milk

T: I get the coffee, chocolate, as the taste lingers I get the tiramisu desert flavor, almost like a cup of coffee with a nice vanilla creamer

M: Medium to light

O: Not as aggressive as the wake n bake but a really nice sweet stout. I love this lingering vanilla tiramisu flavor that sits in the mouth as the beer has gone. Probably my favorite of the reserve series.

Pours a deep dark brown with about a finger of tan head. The nose is almost perfect - chocolate and tiramisu essence along with some roast. There really is no tiramisu flavor, just some residual sweetness. The roasted bitterness is mild but there's enough there to make me happy. The mouthfeel on this offering is a bit creamier than the standard Moo-Hoo.

On tap, pies and pints charleston

A- pours jet black with a thick and creamy dark tan head that retains long after the pour, leaving some nice lacing behind

S- if tiramisu cake is what they were going for in aroma, they certainly nailed it. Fresh coffee, caramel, chocolate cake & icing

T- fresh coffee up front mixes with dark chocolate, whipped vanilla cream, caramel, chocolate cake and more coffee on a sweet, cake like finish

M- medium heavy body with low carbonation leads to a creamy mouthfeel and finish

O- they pretty much nailed what they were going for, well done!

S: chocolate and coffee dominate, with dried fruit and brown sugar.

T:Rich chocolate, coffee, molasses, and roasted grain, a touch of booze in the finish.

M: Thick and creamy. Luxurious.

O: That's one fine beer.

Tastes just like the dessert but in beer form. It's very chocolate-y and coffee flavored, which one would expect for this type of beer. It is slightly sweet but not overly so.

Bottle:
A decent beer that comes close to its intent without becoming outrageous.
Lovely black with a light brown head that lasts in some fashion through the whole pour.
Nose starts with mostly burnt sugar to me, but Kahlua and cocoa eventually come through.

Taste is more subdued than I'd expect from the nose. Coffee front with a nice sweetness level and a lightly sweet lactose tang. A balancing bitterness that eventually seems more unsweetened cocoa (with some powdered cinnamon, oddly) brings the beer to the end. And that end comes a little quickly as the beer flows over the tongue swiftly, asking you to take another sip.

It's obviously a gimmick beer, but it doesn't delve full on into the gimmick, which is good. Impressions of its namesake dessert are there, but it's still a beer first. That said, it's interesting, but not worth buying again for me.

2015 bomber poured into a tulip.

L: Pours a deep, almost opaque dark brown with a thin tan head showing modest lacing.

S: Candied pecans jump out of the bottle the moment it's cracked. Wow, I can actually smell this from across the room. Coffee and a touch of maple syrupy molasses sweetness in the nose as well. Very promising.

T: Syrupy lactose sweetness, caramel, coffee, chocolate (more as the beer warms), pancakey malts, pecans. Lingering finish just like you had eaten a bite of waffles with syrup alongside strong black coffee. Not bad, but a bit cloyingly sweet.

F: Medium-bodied but feels a bit thicker due to the cloying syrupy sweetness. Prickly carbonation is nice, almost a bit like a soda in the mouth but not quite that intensity.

O: This is good, but I don't know how much of it I could drink in one sitting (thankfully I had help this time around). It's just too syrupy; in fact I can feel the syrup gathering around the edges of my lips and sticking there. A bit much for a beer, but man, I could see myself keeping a couple bottles of this around for those time when I'm in the mood for pancakes and don't feel like making any, and also I wanna get a good buzz going.

P.S. – Makes a killer float!!

Dark brown body with a thin beige cap. Roast, char, hazelnuts, coffee. Sweet dessert. Coffee, vanilla. Definitely getting the tiramisu aspect in both the aroma and flavor. Terrapin hit their target with this one.

650 mL bottle. Not quite black. Smell is big adjunct. Vanilla. Milk chocolate. Not sure what else is in tiramisu, but this has the tiramisu aroma. Taste isn't quite as good. Lots of vanilla and milk chocolate. Nutty. Pretty sweet. Medium body, not very heavy. Lots of adjuncts that smell really nice and taste ok.
