A: Pours dark brown with a half finger of mocha head. Not much lacing.
S: Smells of coffee and some chocolate. Made me think this might be Wake n Bake light
T: Starts off with some coffee and a second wave of lactose sweetness. As it warms, this comes alive. Caramel, toffee, brown sugar, marscapone all linger. This has hints of a "real" Tiramisu.
MF: not overly thick but silky. No alcohol burn.
O: Fantastic stout. I just drank 22 oz and I could open another one.

Poured from a bomber into a tulip glass.

A: Pours black with a thick, frothy chocolate-milk head that settles down somewhat but maintains well and laces beautifully throughout.

S: Big notes of bittersweet dark chocolate, coffee, mocha, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. A big, blissful beer in the nose.

T: Coffee is the dominant flavor, with chocolate, vanilla and maple gliding pleasantly across the palate. A light, mocha coffee taste settles on the back end of the palate. The beer is roasty, but the bitterness isn't harsh. Lots of great flavors acting in symphony.

M: There's a little crisp carbonation on the tongue initially, the beer's body is nicely pronounced without being too filling or ponderous.

O: An excellent treatment to one of my favorite beer styles. The coffee and chocolate work perfectly together, and the vanilla, mocha and maple notes are delicious bonuses to an already great beer. The 8.5% ABV goes to work pretty fast, but it's a stout. Bravo, Terrapin. I'm glad I have one more stashed.

22oz bottle into a snifter
no botting dates

A: Jet black, just under 1 width of tan head dissipates fairly quickly and leaves only trace lacing. 4.25

S: Wow, it legit smells like Tiramisu. Big coffee characters, cinnamon, sugary sweetness, subtle booze. Fantastic. 4.5

T: Huge coffee notes are dominant. I also get more subtle cinnamon, a cake-ish character, lactose-like cream. Does resemble tiramisu, but not to the extent of the aroma. I would appreciate less lactose cream flavor, but still quite good. 4

M/D: Full bodied, carbonation appropriate, ABV very well masked, the lactose-sugars can be a bit much at times, but otherwise very drinkable. 4

O: A very nice coffee stout. A sweeter substitute to Wake N Bake. 4.25

Poured on draught into a snifter glass. Appearance is very dark with minimal head. Taste is just as advertised with a good sweet/milk stout base. A lot of chocolate, coffee and vanilla are present making this an excellent dessert beer. Extremely smooth Mouthfeel, and there is not a ton of alcohol presence. The sweetness is fairly high, but this is an excellent beer overall.

Another awesome beer from Terrapin. Has nice lacing and a good feel for the ABV. Smell is indeed tiramisu although you really need to stick your nose into the glass to get much. Taste is far stronger, hitting the tiramisu flavor extremely well, delicious without being overly sweet. I have no idea what they added to this beer to achieve some of those flavors in tiramisu; very impressive.

I do feel like beers like this would perhaps be more enjoyable if I didn't know what they were ahead of time; comparing them to a cinnamon roll, tiramisu, etc. does them a bit of a disservice because I'd rather be getting the interesting flavors and just enjoying them (and perhaps thinking, "holy crap this tastes a lot like tiramisu") instead of having to spend much of my time drinking them comparing them against their name. Ah well, this one does a really good job of actually matching the name so perhaps this comment is more directed at cinnamon roll'd.

Enjoyed on-tap from Gnarly Barley for their 4th anniversary. Tiramisu-Hoo is another solid beer from Terrapins "Reserve Series" that takes a concept and completely nails the flavors. This one is no exception. Good brew!
