The long line of Goses keeps growing and I'm not complaining. This is quite tasty and hits all the right notes. Not over the top with the watermelon but not too subtle either. Overall this is a winner. Nicely done.

Great pool beer. Great lawn mower beer. Great shower beer. I could chug this all day errr day. Seriously, it's a salty gose that lets the watermelon really come through. Chug...

Pours clear, light gold in color with 1/2 inch head. Taste is dough, watermelon, and a moderate amount of salt. Light bodied, tart, salty with moderate carbonation. Watermelon taste is there and it seems more real tasting than like a Jolly Rancher. Refreshing. This would be a summer staple if I could get it locally.

Best before date of 11/24/17

Appearance - Pours slightly hazy and golden orange in color with a white, finger width head that displays sub-par retention, resulting in a mostly barren surface and a razor thin ring around the edge of the glass.

Smell - Aroma is fair with light watermelon being the most prominent aspect. A bit of wheat. Faint spice and salinity.

Taste - Follows the nose, but the flavor is more assertive. Tart watermelon and a salty bite upfront and throughout. Hints of lime creep in mid-taste and into the finish, leaving a watermelon, lime and salty finish. Simple but refreshing and delicious.

Mouthfeel - Light in body with light carbonation. Slick, easy drinker. Relies on the tartness of the flavor to keep the brew lively.

Overall - It's not the best gose I've had, but it's probably the best watermelon infused brew I've had to date. Wish I'd grabbed a sixer rather than two cans.

12oz can, large wine glass. Looks like a best by of 11.17.16.

Pours a very clear straw yellow with a low white head that galloped away. There's just a tiny ring left.

Pickled watermelon, bread and butter pickles, lemons, and a little musty grain.

Tart and clean flavors of watermelon with some salt. There's a good dose of sweetness, but the tartness and saltiness balance it out.

Thick for a light beer with little prickling bubbles, but not intensely carbonated. It's a little like soft water.

It's pretty salty and more than a little sweet. The watermelon flavor is definitely there and very natural.

Terrapin Beer Co. "Watermelon Gose"
12 fl. oz. can
$2 @ Giant, Havertown, PA

What I found interesting about this was that the watermelon actually tastes like real watermelon. It's not sweet, but rather like the piece of the melon that's close to the rind. It's more watery than the center, and not as flavorful, but it still has a very distinct character. Perhaps not surprisingly, that works great with the sourness of the gose as it's kind of like pickled watermelon rind. The salt works well too, although I thought it was a little too salty for my tastes. Light bodied and zesty, served cool it makes a great summer quencher!
