Surf’s up with our “HI-10” Mango Habanero Double IPA. With citra waves for days, and just enough heat to make you sweat, our big and juicy DIPA has plenty of kick to keep you barreled from start to finish.

12 oz can. Probably past its prime but not much different from a can I had at an earlier date.
Over-ripe mango and jalapeno peppers blend OK in both the nose but not in the mouth. Mild heat from the peppers lingers on along with a messy mango-pepper taste.
Full body and medium carbonation.

"Surf's up with our 'Hi-10' Mango Habanero Double IPA. With citra waves for days, and just enough heat to make you sweat, our big and juicy DIPA has plenty of kick to keep you barreled from start to finish." Brewed in the style of an American Imperial India Pale Ale, available in 12 oz. canned 6 packs and on limited draft.

Poured from a 12 oz. can to a tulip glass.

(Appearance) Pours a frothy foam head of a pastel white color over a mildly hazy golden amber body. Retention is above average and lacing is light and patchy. 3.75

(Smell) Malt notes of mildly toasted crystal malt syrups, rich mango fruit juice, and lightly roasted habanero character. Gentle hop character of citrus and tropical fruit notes accentuate with a soft bitterness. Potency is moderate. 3.75

(Taste) The flavor largely follows the aroma, with a merging of crystal malt and mango flesh forming a soft, clean but flavorful base of sweetness, and a gentle prickle of toasted habanero heat, and a gentle citrus and tropical fruit hop bitterness. 4

(Mouthfeel) Texture is slick, softly creamy, lightly chewy, mildly dry. Carbonation is medium, generating a medium frothiness and a modestly crisp finish. Body is medium for the style, medium+ overall. Balance is slightly sweet over hoppy bitter. Alcohol presence is mild and there are no off characters. 3.75

(Overall) Very enjoyable DIPA, although most of the flavor character comes from the mango and malt profile, and not so much from the hop flavor character. The habanero flavor is subtle but a nice compliment and spin with a gentle spiciness. Overall, enjoyable but doesn't drink with a hop presence quite like a DIPA. 3.75

Malty, more spice in the taste as it warms up. Fruit and mango is light, medium body and moderate carbonation.

An ok beer; I wasn't a huge fan of this one.

Hi-10 DIPA has a medium, orange-white head, a mostly clear, orange appearance, some ascending bubbles, and some light lacing left behind, on the glass. The aroma is of white bread crust, sourness, a bit of spice, and some fruit. Taste is of sweet, store-brand white bread crust, some odd mango fruit strangeness, and not much bitterness, even with a state 110 IBU. No, this is not a hot beer, even with habenero. Mouthfeel is high medium, and Hi-10 DIPA finishes on the dry side.

12oz can, sample from the brewery.

Like an DIPA isn't already amped up, mango and habanero ... sure, why not. Slightly hazed amber hue, nice looking head. Smells juicy and peppery with rind, mangoes, chili peppers, alcoholic esters, and a mild caramel tone. This beer hugs my palate hard, hop bitterness stays true to what a DIPA is, lots of dankness and mango flavor with a warming blanket of peppery goodness. It works, so much going on but in the end I had no problem crushing this can.

A thanks to the creator of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a bronze color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of mango, some peppers. Taste is peppers, spicy but not hot, little of the mango's picked up in the aroma. Not as hoppy as I would expect from this style, alcohol is well hidden. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall, far from a traditional DIPA, but an enjoyable beer.
