The body of the beer was golden amber, hazy, amply carbonated, and topped with a three finger thick head. The aroma was dank, resinous, piney, herbal, and very much keeping with the hemp theme. The taste was not quite as bitter as I was expecting. The first sip was very citric with flavors of grapefruit and lemon, which faded to a caramel middle, and a piney finish. The beer was creamy in feel with a bit of puckering acidity in the aftertaste. Very well hidden alcohol and minimal to no burn made this easy to drink. Well done DIPA with a mellow vibe.

eyes...
burnt orange with a slightly cloudy disposition, decent carbonation from watching the bubbles gurgle up from below, not much head, nice lacing, pretty standard looking for a DIPA

nose...
juicy green hops, a real fine cross of pine and citrus (many times the pine is way stronger), some malt sweetness on the back end, subdued but really well executed

taste etc...
slightly prickly carbonation, medium weight, pretty mild for the ABV, sort of a loose collaboration of mild citrus and mild bitterness, kind of drinks in the middle... bitterness is there but it is surely tempered,

verdict?
good, not great, balanced but maybe not what I am looking for in a DIPA. very drinkable but not thrilling

pours a clear, dark amber with a medium head. nose; mango, rye, & hops. taste; caramel malt, citrus pith, spicy rye, mango, orange zest, light syrup, & resinous citrus hops. medium carbonation & mouthfeel. enough caramel & malt here to feel like a hoppy red ale. pretty all right!

A 500ml bottle with a best by date of 1.27.18. -
Side Project #32

L - Dark yellow, with 1 finger of head and lots of lacing left all over the glass. No clarity. Gorgeous DIPA

S - Big dank aroma. Excellent! Both citrus and bitter, but not over the top on either.

T - Citrus, tangerines, and malty backbone. Bitter aftertaste. Delicous

F - Medium body and well carbonated

O - An awesome DIPA. Best beer out of the Terrapin brew shop in years. Outstanding.

500mL bottle from Minks (Marietta, GA). 8.49. Bottled 7/27/17. Served in a Terrapin snifter. Enjoyed 8/15/17.

Pours a nearly opaque orange with about two fingers of fluffy white head. It retains a full surface haze and central bubbly island. The broad collar imparts only a couple modest dashes of lace.

Impressions of dank melon dominate the aroma complemented by citrus, mint and a little old bread.

The flavor follows through on the nose's dankness in spades. Hoppy onion/ garlic, old citrus, overripe melon, faint grapefruit, soggy bread, earthy caramel and a slight tingle of alcohol. Deceptively smooth.

Slick, sticky, medium full feel with pillowy carbonation. Dank melon, orange peel and a little dough linger in the aftertaste.

A dangerously drinkable and unapologetically dank imperial IPA. Nice work Terrapin. I wouldn’t mind seeing this return as a canned seasonal.

Probably the best smelling IPA I've tried. I could crawl inside this bottle and live there. The taste isn't too far behind either - a super hoppy DIPA that is crisp and clean with gorgeous aromas and not much bitterness.

My bottles had a sticker clarifying the ABV was 9.3%, not 8.8% printed on the embossed bottle print.
