Bottle. Poured copper. This ber was hoppy but it was damn sweet as well. Pretty generic hop bill. Chock full of rich malt. Too rich for it's own good. I could do without the sticky sugars. Lowers the mouthfeel too.

A lively pour with a medium amber-gold and a big foamy pale tan head. It has excellent retention and leaves big swathes of medium sized sticky head. It has a nicely hopped aroma, with nice floral qualities and a hint of citrus. The taste is much the same but a little less distinct. It has a medium-light body with just the faintest hint of carbonation.

Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a clear copper color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is hops, caramel and malt. The taste is a very good blend of hops and malt. A really good southern beer.

On tap at Due South 5/16/16

L: 2F head with OK retention, some lacing and a ring. Beer is amber/copper, pretty clear and clean.

S: More malt-forward than I would like. Faint pine and citrus notes.

T: Whew...not bad. More piney than citrus-y, and more forward and sweeter malt than I would like in an IPA, but it's their interpretation of the style. Some bitterness, but not too much.

F: Medium body, light to medium carbonation, balance OK, construction with more malt-forward less to my liking than some.'

O: Perfectly good IPA, but not my preferred rendition of it.

Bottle into a snifter. Nice copper color with amber hues center mass. About a finger head of white foam. Nose is ripened tropical fruit balanced with caramel malt. Pretty laid back on the hops in terms of flavor and bitterness. Lots of sweet grapefruit, mango, pineapple, and citrus. Medium body, maybe on the heavier side for a 7% beer.

Terrapin Beer Company - Hopsecutioner. 7.3% ABV. 12oz bottle split between snifters. Bottles 12/25/15.

Look: Hazy orange/copper body, retaining a finger sized white foamy head.

Smell: Pine resin, bitter hops, and some citrus fruits, along with some malt sweetness. Has a little hop sweetness from age.

Feel: Light body, with some lively carbonation.

Taste: Slightly bitter throughout, but also sweet from old hops. Some citrus fruits and malt sweetness are present, but mostly blocked by hops.

Overall: The citrus has fallen off a little from age, but is still not bad at all. Hops are dominant here, and leaves lingering bitterness throughout.

3/1/16 Washington DC ($8 16 Oz draft pour at The Hamilton). Light golden brown pour, slight white head. Fruity hoppy aroma. Hops strong and pleasant. Dry and crisp taste and finish. Overall good pint.

First had in Kennesaw, Georgia, poured from 12-oz. bottle, with label notched best if enjoyed by June, second week, 2016, into Pilsner glass. This big-but-balanced IPA is well-deserving of its excellent reputation.

Love this stuff. Nice dark golden color with big, fluffy head. Subtle, honey carmel flavor that balances the hops well. Pretty strong stuff right up there with 2 hearted ale. Must say I like this better. Wish it was as common as the Hi-5 IPA, which I like too but this stuff is a little better.

Poured into a tulip. Decent clarity with a moderate off-white head. Retention was moderate with a lasting ring. Let it warm up for about 30 minutes before review. Aroma is pine up front with some citrus as well. There is a light malt sweetness as well. Nice pine taste with a bit of malt sweetness up front. Citrus notes are very minor in taste. Bitterness is balanced during swallow but seems stronger and lingers for a while after. Mouthfeel is creamy with moderate carbonation and no alcohol hotness. Fairly solid IPA.

Pours a light golden copper color with a thin head. Smell is sweet and juicy with a hit of hops/pine notes. Taste is much the same. Appears to be a little malt forward with a late/middle hit of hop bitterness. Light to medium body. Really digging it.

Pours a mostly clear copper color with fluffy white head that fades to a thin film. Smells of classic American citrus hops both piney and citrus. Aldo has a dank and somewhat abrasive character to it. Tastes initially sweet with ample hop citrus & oils. Toasty & bready malts support hops. Bitterness is somewhat harsh. Seems like high ibu's. Feels medium bodied with some warming alcohols. Overall, a decent hoppy beer. The harshness detracts somewhat but I would still go this one when craving some notable hop character.

Nice orange color with a quickly fading white head that left spotty lacing. The nose is lemony and sweet with a nice blast of hops. The taste is quite malty and citrusy. There is a nice bitterness at the end to balance the almost overly sweet middle. Medium mouthfeel and carbonation in this one.

Pours orange gold with 1.5 fingers of white, moderately lasting head leaving some patchy lace. Aroma is hoppy: floral, pine, & some citrus backed up by sweet caramel malt. As the brew warms the aroma develops a tannin/tea like character. Taste: caramel malt sweetness present but overpowered by hoppy bitter character of pine & citrus. Starts & finishes bitter & dry with a nice peppery & astringent finish that has a hint of butter & alcohol. Aftertaste is bitter & distinctly astringent.

Packs a heavy bunch, but without going to overboard and ruining the taste. This beer is exceptional compared to average beers. Would recommend this to anyone who enjoys beer. I would say this is my favorite beer from Terrapin Brewing Co.

Good beer. Purchased on draft from Buffalo Wild Wings. Came with one fingers width of head. Smell is slightly citrusy but predominantly hoppy. Taste can be overwhelmed by bitterness but all around a good tasting and very smooth beer.

Light copper color and light cream colored head. Pretty highly carbonated. Smells mostly pine with some citrus, taste is dominated by the pine. Was expecting it to be more bitter, but its not, and it drinks really well. Light to medium body on an overall nice IPA. Its not a Two-Hearted, but its a nice local beer on a trip to Georgia.

Poured from a can into a relatively clean pint glass that once showed the name and icon of a surf shop, but years of use and washing have eroded off much of the text, so there are rogue strokes of cursive scattered around the glass haphazardly. Poured with over an inch of orange creme head on a very bubbly orange body.

Smells very citrusy and bright: pineapple, mango, apricot. Grass.
Taste is bolder, not as bright: grapefruit, orange, an undercurrent of malt sweetness with some earthy/piney notes.
Not much carbonation. Some very fine tingling left in the mouth after.
A good beer. For some reason this beer always loses much of its charm quickly, after only a few sips. I'll still continue to drink it all the time though.

pours amber with a solid white head that fades very quick.

smells like sweet caramel malt. sweetness is what i smell mostly. not a huge hop presence.

tastes like caramel malt. slight bitterness but not a big hoppy beer. taste is good but not dominated by hops. it also isn't dominated by malt. it's hard to describe but this beer just has a light mouthfeel.

overall this is a decent IPA, glad i gave it a try. i've had multiple other Terrapin beers and enjoyed them. a friend of mine who goes to the University of South Carolina loves Terrapin beers and recommended it to me. a very plain IPA.

It has a nice golden color when poured with litttle head retention. Has a strong hoppy smell along with a falvor thats just as strong at first taste but really mellows out and goes down smooth.

Smell: Light citrus hops with a nice malt base.

Feel: Light-medium mouthfeel.
Overall: Solid IPA with a bend for citrus hops. Very drinkable and straight forward.

Drinks like a session beer but packs a little punch with the 7+% ABV. It's bitter and fresh. Can has an expired date of 2/26/16, so it's pretty fresh. Drinking it ice cold in a beer glass and it has a quarter inch head on pouring, dirty white colored and it leaves a spider web lacing along the glass and the head dissipates the farther south the beer goes. I love this beer and it is one of my mainstays for any old weekend. Readily available in my area (middle GA) and a great beer I like to share with my friends around a fire pit. For price, taste and availability, this IPA is hard to beat.

Enjoyed from the 12 oz can in a pint glass via a friend from work---THANKS BRYAN!
This excellent IPA pours a nice medium amber with a fantastic head of off white foam that settles to a thick ring, thick, layer, and supreme lacing. Nose of citrus, pine, herbal, and bittering hops mixed with copious amounts of sweet caramel. Flavors follow the nose with sweet malts to the fore that awash mid palate towards citrus notes of pineapple. Flavors fade into a honey and tea drenched pine note with a herbal blast of hops in the background and on the aftertaste. VERY unique with medium carbonation and a sweet and bitter hops flavor on the aftertaste. Overall, one of the best IPA's I have had to date, although could easily pass for a DIPA.

Cheers
