One of the few beers that I've had which smells a hell of a lot better than it tastes. Now, part of that could be that I drank it way later than I was supposed to. By the time I got around to opening it, it was right around the "best by" date, so I'll give it some extra curtesy points for that, but I've had hoppy beers that went old and none of them were as bland as this was. The nose started out nice and piney, floral in a slightly peachy, citrusy way too. I had very high hopes for this one, but I guess all the flavor was in the nose. By the time I started drinking it, there was very little there - not much malt, barely any bitterness; really, it tasted like a weak pilsner. Again, probably would have been better had I drank it sooner, but I've never seen a beer fade so badly, and considering how nice the nose was, I'm not sure how much better a fresh one would have been.

The rye provides a flavorful adjustment to the traditional malt. It is really yummy and deserves a higher rating in my opinion.

good head and lacing. Sweet smell. Just the right touch of bitter going down followed by a sweet aftertaste. Citrus taste, followed by the slight bitter and finishes with a very pleasant taste in the mouth...she's a keeeper

12 oz bottle. Best by the first week of December 2015. Poured into a snifter (i know it's not the right glassware). Hazy orange with a one inch bubbly head that fades quickly leaving some lace. Smell is spicy pepper, malt, caramel, little citrus. Taste follows. Easy drinking enjoyable rye pale ale. Nothing too fancy. Cheers!

Love Terrapin Rye Pale. Great color and taste. Had my first one at the Masters this year and if you have walked Augusta National in the Georgia heat you can work up a pretty good thirst and had this over lunch and it was very refreshing and a pleasant surprise.
