Notes: Depth Perception Imperial IPA begins with a series of complex malts far off in the distance. The use of three distinct bittering hops brings this beer more into focus, while the three varietals of dry hops get you an up-close-and-personal view of this three-dimensional IPA.

19.2oz can poured into a tulip.

Pours golden with solid clarity; fluffy off-white head that falls leaving nice retention and lacing.

The aromas have a subtle blend of citrus and tropical fruits. There's a decent amount of caramel. Lots of malts.

The flavors are bold. Some pineapple, grapefruit, and orange leading the way. More caramel. Nice hop flavors. Nice hop bitterness. Moderate sweetness. Strong malt backbone. Finishes on the juicier side. Subtle warmth along with some alcohol notes in the finish, but it's not hot or boozy.

Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's fluffy, smooth, and slightly sharp.

This is a pretty solid DIPA. It has a lot of "Imperial Red Ale" vibes despite not looking like one. It's big, bold, and flavorful. The craftsmanship is on point. I like it.

12 fl oz can:

9.1%ABV.

Boozy, grassy, unpleasantly aggressive. Warm citrus, rindy bitterness. Pungently hoppy, even a bit soapy (overwarm fermentation, perhaps?).

Slams you with hop aggression, but doesn't bring an enjoyable hop flavour profile to the table. A loud beer with little substance.

Originally I rated this bad. But I’m revisiting it. I decided to pour it in a small tulip glass and enjoy it slowly. Seems to be the trick. I’m new to imperials and their strength. It’s growing on me but I have to sip them slowly and cherish what they are.

Poured a cloudy copper body with minimal head that slowly dies. The aroma is mostly citric hops with a minimal maltiness as well. Smooth, medium-bodied beer, has a juicy citric hop vibe and that is balanced with a bitter, dry hoppy finish.

Depth Perception brewed by Terrapin Beer Company, with an ABV of 9.10% This Imperial IPA pours out of 19=2oz aluminum can into a pint beer glass. The color is a deep amber color with a nice white head. There is also a nice amount of lacing to this brew, it sticks to the side of the glass well. The smell is rich with hoppy bitterness mixed with lots of earthy grains an malts. So far Depth Perception is a nice inviting brew. Now for the taste, it is Bold with flavors. You first pick up on a slight sweetness then the hop bitterness. The earthly grains an malts tie it all together. The body of Death Perception is a medium/heavy. Definitely a full bodied IPA. This imperial IPA has a super nice balance to it. It is really hard to pick up on the 9.10 % ABV in this brew, it is just that smooth. The mouth feel is Bold, Rich, Hoppy, Clean, Smooth, and Refreshing. Overall I am going to give this imperial IPA a 4.25 out of 5. I would definitely look this brew up again given the opportunity too. TERRAPIN brewery did a super nice job with this style of brew.

12 oz can from a chilled 6 pack. No date stamp.
Poured slowly down the center of a snifter. Amber-orange in color, nice foamy head with tiny fizz bubbles popping momentarilly on top.
Smell is fresh piney hops, various citrus notes, welcomed malt.
Taste is ‘right there’ - fruity pine, a dab of sweetness, finish is mouth watering, turns slightly dry, then the bitter and dank come forward with a decent alcohol cleanse right behind.
Feel is medium carbonation with a long resiny tongue coating. (I’m reminded of Stone’s WCDIPAs).
Overall, $2.00 a can, very fresh, didn’t travel far (GA to FL), nice nuanced use of multiple hops & malts.,. good effort!

Pours a clear clear copper color with a thumb sized cream colored head that falls slow with good lace.

Aroma is big citrus with tropical underneath on a sweet caramel base underneath. Nice light dankness a good old fashioned hoppy west coast style.

Taste is like the nose but on steroids, big west coast coat your tongue bitterness. Loaded with hops but also has a good malt base. A nice little beer enough base to hold a good dose of bitterness.

Mouthfeel a good big medium with middle of the road carbonation.

Overall a good big IPA nice base great hop flavor the only downside is its so tasty but a 9% you can't have too many.

1 PT., 3.2 FL. OZ. can
Served in a pint glass

This beer pours amber in color and clear. It is topped with an inch of tan head that leaves spotty lacing.

Resin and citrus aroma. Fresh pine needles

Malty upfront. Bitter citrus and pine follow and linger in the finish.

Medium bodied with an almost syrupy mouthfeel

Old school IIPA. I can't say I miss them that much.

A beer so hoppy you could slap your mommy! And you just might, if you have too many of these. A good and strong beer, in both taste and alcohol content. Not too much of either to make you feel gross. Great buzz from one.

The pour is burnt orange colored. The taste is some mild caramel malt, piney hops, grapefruit, valencia orange, & some faint hop bitterness near the finish. All in all, this was not a bad IPA & the price was not bad either. Cheers! B

Good looking beer. Dark orange with a tan foamy head. Piney hops in the nose with a balanced malt character. Not too complex. Taste is pine again with a slightly fruity finish. Drying throughout. A solid and strong IPA, but not necessarily a standout.

MY RATING ONLY STANDS FOR WHEN THIS IS FRESH.

When fresh this was fine and average. Not bad. This can says it's good till November but this was so fucking nasty now I couldn't keep it down. Disgusting malt flavor. Do not recommend at all at any point im time. If this isn't fresh its a straight up 1. Fucking awful. I know its not as fresh as the first time because it's still from the same shipment of tall boys.

Quite quashable for a 9.1% ABV beer. It is nothing fancy or outstanding, but it is definitely solid. I've not liked any Terrapin beers that I have tried before, but this one, I will go back to.

way more complex than I had anticipated, so it actually lives up to its name. Plenty of malt balanced with floral hops bitterness. Pushes the limit on sweetness. Maybe good for days you have a sweet tooth. The layered finish that crescendos into a flavor-bomb really makes up for the sweetness. Some alcohol heat, but a pleasant one.
Worth trying at least once.

Almost an imperial red ale in color and malty sweetness. Nice herbal, grassy hop profile with a residual bitterness. Balanced and tasty, crisp and clean finish with the herbaceous linger, I like it
