Notes: This beer is a hop lover’s dream come true, though some say it’s the 100% Maris Otter malt that really steals the show. Drinkability is high with this supremely balanced brew, but it still packs a punch for even the most discerning Hophead.

Pours a nice clean-looking gold color. About .5 inch white head soon follows. Carbonation looks very strong in the glass. A very nice looking IPA.

Smell is a lot of citrus upfront and then just kind of fades to me. Not a complex smell.... pleasant enough but doesn't hit me in the same way some of the best examples of the style do.

Taste is very citrus/orange upfront, followed by a nice bit of bitterness and then finishing somewhat astringently. As a whole the taste hits the right notes for the style, but just feels a bit....harsh.

Mouthfeel is very good for the style. Smooth and crisp and not overly resinous.

Overall this is nice beer if you are looking for a very hop-forward DIPA that doesn't come at an obscene price. It lacks the drinkability to go with the hoppiness that comes with the best examples of the style though.

Pours golden orange.

Lots of orange and pine in the nose.

Taste is orange rind, pine, lemon and other fruit. Pleasant malt backbone with good bitterness that lingers well.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and well carbonated.

Overall this was really great. Will definitely buy again.

OH NO! There goes Tokyo! There goes Hopzilla!

A: Poured into my pint glass this beer pour a little too pale, with a fluffy head that is to quick to dissipate and leaves little to no lace. This, however is about the only "flaw"

S: The DIPA has the right amount of notes as you'd want to get from hops. Piny, fruity, citrus, its all there in equal amounts. The hops are very balanced with each other.

T: The flavor starts out as a hoppy tongue bruiser. After about half the pint is gone, the malt backbone finally kicks in to balance this brew and give some relief.

MF/D: The mouth feel surprisingly is full and chewy. The drink, however, might suffer a tab bit because of the harshness of the hops, but this is a hop heads dream.

Overall, This is the real east coast version of a west coast IPA. Grab this up while it's fresh and still on the shelfs, because Hopzilla will come, he will reak havoc, and he will leave and never return again.

This brew pours a medium yellow orange color with about half a fingers worth of head. Very hazy and sharp in its haziness. The smell is rich but not very large. I didn't smell it when it opened or during the pour but the scent is musky and dank, sweet and herbal.

Glug glug glug

The flavor is that of a big and heavy IPA, not tongue ripping but full. It certainly has a basement musk blending a fruity and sweet citrus edge with a complex maltiness and bitter herbal edge riding underneath. The body is very full, almost a bit heavy, but very supportive of the entire brew and somehow I taste no booze in this which is outstanding. The drinkability is great at first but this is certainly not a quick drink.

Had on tap at Smokin Joe's for the Big Pour Event.

A-pours a deep golden yellow color with a thin white head.

S-huge nose of all hops, not much malt at all and I'm a fan. tons of sweet ripe grapefruit and tangerine (tropical fruity hops with littler bitterness), notes of pine needles and more fruity citrus.

T-the taste has some earthy malt body but very light. its a hop explosion, more pine than the nose, very herbal dry pine, notes of citrus, more citrus, tons of tangerine and ripe bitter grapefruit and all the citrus flavors associated.

M-this has a medium body that is lively on the tongue, semi dry crisp finish.

D-big time hop bomb, it is singular but the citrus and pine flavors meld extremely well together making a citrus blast with hop balance and extreme drinkability.
