Pours a clear, but somewhat chill hazed bright orange-yellow.

Citrus fruits dominate, but a noticeable resinous character always makes it's presence known.

Strong malt backbone doesn't allow the piney, citrus, and resinous hops to shine.

Light-bodied, medium carbonation, resinous, citrus, bitter-dry finish.

Overall, a good beer, but needs some work.

This beer is weird but nice. It definitely has character, which puts it ahead of Goose IPA (I don't know why I keep picking on Goose--perhaps because it lacks character--but it is an OK beer). There's a taste here that reminds me of cinnamon or something. Basically there's something to balance the hops.

Best before date of 03/15/17

Appearance - Pours crystal clear and bright copper in color with a sandstone, near finger width head. Not much time on retention, peeling back to a mostly barren surface with a razor thin ring encircling the edge of the glass. Not much for lacing aside from a few spots and a broken line or two.

Smell - Herbal, leafy and slightly spicy hop aroma with a bit of caramel sitting beneath.

Taste - Follows the nose. Hmm. Has a lot of tea-like flavor. Very leafy. Slightly spicy and earthy. Just a hint of citrus comes through mid-taste, along with a fair caramel malt backbone. Aftertaste lingers with more tea-like leafiness, mild citrus bite and well-faded caramel sweetness.

Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with low to moderate carbonation. Slightly slick texture. Easy enough drinker.

Overall - A very, very odd choice of hop for an IPA. Tastes more like an Imperial Bitter or something along those lines. There's no denying the hop freshness, though. It does well to dig into your tastebuds and really hammer home the unique flavor that the Styrian Golding provides... but was it the right choice for an IPA? No, I think not. Points for going against the grain and creating something interesting, but it's something I wouldn't be interested in trying again.

pours amber with a solid head, not bad at all.

smell is nice, mellow hops and solid malt.

taste is bitter and kinda thick. slightly abrasive flavor. i don't get much fresh hop in this. it's not bad but nothing special.

disappointing for a fresh hop beer but not bad.

There is no legible date on the bottom of the can. Something is there...in ink spots..but it looks more like somebody blew Cheeto dust on the can than printing something that can be read.

Appearance: The body of the beer has a very nice deep bronze color and good transparency. The head is rocky and medium sized. Good retention.

Aroma: It has a nice floral hop aroma. There is just a touch of garlic.

Taste: Oddly it has a buttery start. That buttery flavor persists throughout the beer and really overwhelms the flavor to the point where it outshines even the bitterness. After finishing each sip of the beer that butter flavor lingers on. It's not a toffee flavor but an actual butter flavor. It is not flattering for the beer. Focusing on the other flavors I am getting a bit of that flowery character along with a touch

Mouthfeel: There is a bit of slickness to the beer. Drinkability is very low.

Overall: If you like your beer to taste like buttered popcorn then this beer is for your. Otherwise don't bother. I highly recommend passing on it this year.
