Bottle (2012)
Thanks for opening this with me, VaTechHopHead!
A murky, dark honey-orange with a small off-white cap. Leaves the glass messy with irregular lines and sheets of sticky lace.
Strong aroma of citrus, some wheat, and alcohol heat. There's also a definite melon character to the aroma from the choice of hops used.
The flavor is largely bitter, even for the style, along with complementary citrus and melon notes (cantaloupe?). There's some sweet malt character as well, but the overwhelming bitterness hides some of that.
Medium to full-bodied for the style with moderate carbonation.
I suppose this is my favorite German-style wheat IPA...whatever the hell that means.
